Really like this bike, could be 'the' reliable road orientated sport bike some people have been waiting for. Suzuki staying quiet about bhp but rumoured to be around 160hp. Traction control, abs, shares parts with GSXR1000. Styling maybe a bit bland but if I squint when looking at it.....not a million miles from new Multistrada. GSX-S1000F
Not sure if your squinting or have cataracts? Not for me but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There seems to be several psudo Multis out there now but think I will stick with my 10 1200s as its still all the bike I need.
I think it could be a great road bike. The nature of the K5 engine (fastest piston speed ever) with modern electronics will bring the fight to the S1000R. Suzuki may not make the prettiest or best finished bikes, but they know how to make a proper engine.
What the hell have you been smoking? Are you trying to justify it to yourself because pal, you're wayyyyyyy off. Lol
Be cheap suspension, cheap brakes, cheap finish and looks like the bastard son for the 1st monster crankie woman and chuckie
The GSXF range has been round for years, it's a more upright version of the GSXR. Not a competitor for the multi though. Sorry
If Suzuki price this at 9k new otr, probably with a 0% offer like they do on most of their bikes at some point, what's not to like? Better for many than ante'ing up 20k for a Ducati which needs another 5k of farkles to make it run right. Many here have had a variety of Jap bikes at some point... Why the hate.
Personally I quite like it, although if I was going to get a Suzuki 1000 it would be the Gixer. Re it's similarity to a Multi, not even close unless you count it as having two wheels a frame, engine etc as similarities, but then using that criteria so was a 60's Raliegh step through mopped. Suzuki have been producing a model range with the DL prefix that is a lot closer to the Multi than the GSF.
LOl I knew people would like it.... Read on properly with the spec sheet though. GSXR front brakes, GSXR swing arm. Not as downrated as you think.
Re the looks, I was 'very' tongue in cheek about being Multistrada ish. A bit plasticky would be 1st impression. However I think you will see a lot of these on the road. If the Suzuki is so wrong, then why do so many people flat bar convert their GSXR, R1 etc? Seems the right way to go building a bike like this from scratch. Done the GSXR flat bar thing and it is very flawed, dropped bars a non started for serious distance work for me. As to POS Jap bike, I disagree...seems to me plenty issues with Ducati, BMW. One break down in 30 years down to corrosion in a fuse box on Jap bikes for me. Fixed with a clean of contacts and new fuse. No engine failures or fucked up display panels. Go compare.
If I were communiting and needed somethimg for decemt distance every day, its a contender if cheap. Would have to have anotherbike too. With the multi, I'd only need the one
Well, I'm keeping my multi, even looking to spend some money on it. Extended the warranty though as I don't have 100% faith in it being trouble free long term. May look at a second bike which will be a Jap just in case the Ducati is off the road for any reason.
And of course if you were commuting on it you'd also have a variety of courtesy bikes to vary the ride when your Multi was having recall work done.
Ha recalls havent taken my fella off the road Unlike all those gixer owensr with mc, frame, rear swingarm recalls 8 years after production
