Can You Think Of Any Reason Why You Might Need A Spare Engine Control Unit?

  1. Humour me. But is there any reason why a spare Engine Control Unit might be needed? Do they ever pack up? Would it be handy to have a spare for any reason?

A friend has offered me a spanky new one for silly money and I'm wondering if I'm being a mug to even consider buying it despite the great price! Cheers.

  2. Absolutely, yep they can go pop from time to time. If it's cheap enough buy it, don't even think about it. If you plan on keeping the bike that is. Even if you decide to sell the bike at a later date, someone will always be grateful for an ecu at a reasonable price.
