  1. No, it isn't true, it's a made-up piece of nonsense. Obviously.

  3. I only came up with that as I wrote it, but then if better people than I got there first it doesn't make it any less relevant..... Does it ?

  4. She gave Nippy Sweetie a very warm reception.

  5. The more I learn of the mechanics of this fantastic planet, solar system, organisms, species; the more I lean into intelligent deisgn of some kind

  6. I feel the same way when people start to discuss marketing, return on advertising and branding.
Sick to my stomach. All experts on something we can't see or measure.

  7. For me its not so much a question of any particular branch of science or mathematics proving the existence of God, more that the the universality and immutability discernible in the laws of physics, if our understanding is correct, and the universality and ultimate authority vested in an intelligent creator as proposed by believers in a deity appear to be one and the same thing.

  8. Sorry about that. We just do what we do. But I do understand where you're coming from.

  9. I will read, digest and come back....its back to my MBA days...
Actually there is a worse beast...the website optimiser...people...give us 10k and you'll be at the top of Google's searches, how about you get and keep me there and I'll give you £15k at the end of each year, that's 50% more than you are asking for ...not one of them accepts the challenge.

  10. Absolutely not, its as relevant now as it was when he formulated these laws...................essentially we do still live in a Newtonian universe.

On Ms Wark I see her from time to time out and about here. I don't know about her views now but there was a bit of a Bru Haa when First Minister (he always insisted on being called that) Jack McConnel took holidays at a property owned by Kirsty so at least then it was pretty obvious where her sympathies lay.

I agree with JohnV its a bit hypocritical to make out we Scots have no derogatory words for our brethren south of the wall. It sure doesn't stop a lot of anti English bigotry.................of course that's anecdotal but its what I see. One side is as bad as other when it comes to bigotry.

  11. So who designed, and built, the designer ?

  12. What wall? How old are you as the borders moved a while ago :)
I don't think the English mind the Scottish as much as the other way round - this is clearly seen in sport, although with football I cannot comprehend either tribes enjoying watching men run about in shorts. Boobie-O-Sapien Football yes, but not men...

  13. Agree, That's where the logic of their argument breaks down of course. Then again, logic has no place in arguing the case for a deity so its pointless.
    For example
Humans were made in his image. If that were the case where was he for 99.99999% of the existence of the universe.

  14. Ah, perhaps he doesn't need to answer that :Finger: :Hilarious:

  15. If you want to debate intelligent design, it's best to read Dawkins' The God Delusion first.
You don't have to agree with it, but at least you are getting a pretty comprehensive view of the atheist argument.
Then you can say why you don't agree with what he says.

  16. So how did quantum etc all come about then? Out of thin air?

Circular argument fought by two closed-minded opposing plonkers

Wake up and open your eyes an your mind to everything. Its refreshing to see both views and still have no conclusion. Try it, you may even like it

  17. I'm happy to believe that snow is blue, just so long as someone can present me with some evidence, or even theory, which at least seems likely.

  18. I have tried, my son is a fan, amd tbh even more so than a Dan Brown book he just reiterates over and over the same point. And its vitriol is as much as anything in the bible 'burn in damnation'

  19. There are plenty of theories Glidd for both an exisistance of a higher being, a creator, as well as there for an existance of no creator but a set of fortunate, coincidental events

  20. Dawson is a bit over vitriolic. It doesn't do his case much good.
I think I need to read Hitchens' God is Not Great which will almost certainly be a lot funnier.
