I would post my monty but I think it needs to be in production ;)

Good job we don't all have the same taste or we'd all be riding the same bikes and at Box Hill you'd not know which was yours :)

  5. Saw a dragster yesterday in fowlers Char - yes - better in the flesh than in the pics - especially the back end - lovely.

  6. Just an excuse to post a pic of the venerable old beast. Cost £1,800 in autumn 1982. Now worth?

  7. A tenner! :)

  8. Trouble is, fully-faired bikes all look very similar. Nice to have a bit of engine on show. Not that many engines are nice to look at since the advent of water cooling. Too much plumbing on show! Naked MV looks nice though.

  9. That will buy you ten fibre-glass-encased, samey crotch rockets in 30 years' time I reckon!!

  10. They do ill give you that but nothing has the arse end like the RSV4....how about this then....got it started over xmas but its still a work in progress...

And I went over the top on the engine....belongs on the mantlepiece....

  11. Well my RSV4 is worth more now than when I bought it...

  12. Hope that trend continues ... but bikes are made in such big volumes now they probably won't benefit as from much of a scarcity premium.

  13. That looks like a proper bike! Nice work.

  14. Cheers - but its never easy - it looks complete but its far from it. Nothing electrically is connected to anything else - the starter and the starter button, that's it. Theres a shed load of electrical work to do now though...

  15. Youll probably appreciate this a little more then. Left to me and my 2 brothers by my father who past away last year...we thought he sold it but it was at the back of the garage under a sheet....3 owners (my dad being one of them) and the other 2 we both know as well. And only 6k on the clock. 20140913_125339.jpg

  16. Electrics are always a labour of love, so as I hate them I always cheat and either pay someone to sort them out or call in a favour ...

  17. Heh - ironically - go backwards in that order....!

  18. An absolute classic. Must have made Honda a fortune. Any idea how much it's worth?

  19. No idea - I did ask the question on here some months back - there are restored ones on ebay for about 5 - 6k but the lowest mileage one ive seen has something like 60k on it....

I was at my dads house on the weekend - I collected the original pipe to get it refurbished and rechromed. My step mum did say that she had the original Honda fairing for it somewhere in the loft....I didn't know one existed but she showed me a pic of the bike from 30 years ago with it fitted.

  20. I don't think they came with a factory-fitted fairing either. Could be wrong though. It was a long time ago ... should be possible to check. What year is it? Checked on Google images. Thousands of photos but none with fairings.
