Just got a 900ss, 25k miles, 2 miles in last 4 years, less than 1,000 in last 10. I have started it (I know - belts!!) it does run and will sort of tick over. Not bad bodywork and engine paint for age and mileage. Doesn't seem to have oil leaks, certainly no drips. Was thinking of doing a full service, not sure about valves since I've never done desmo valves. Was going to run it for a time and maybe do a full refurb, engine, frame etc. I've got a reasonable workshop but focused around servicing and not rebuilding. Any advice on what to look for, where to start, Ducati suppliers and mechanics. Current bikes are a full dress Harley and a 1975 Triumph T160. Previous Ducatis a white frame 750ss and an 851SP3. Thanks in advance Jon
I don't know, have I broken protocol by asking questions before posting on the Newbie thread. If so apologies. Jon
Don't worry about it, we just like to be neat and tidy here Hopefully someone will be along to answer your specific queries
I would say, carbs off and clean out, belts, oil, filter, fuel filter, and air filter(K&N?) dyno jet stage 2, straight through zorst's........... Your have good taste in duke's white frame 750, a man after my own heart, and the 851 not bad either!!
Nope, dynamically poor, but when I ride it it makes me feel good and that's whats kept me riding bikes for 40 years Jon
