I accidentally bought this slightly neglected but straight '95 Carby 900ss last week Having acquired various parts and shed lots of the standard components from by current 900SS project, it seemed logical to get another 900SS to keep standard-ish and recycle parts and recondition it as a rolling restoration. The motor seems really strong, the tank will need some TLC (but I've got a spare), the frame seems to have "blotches" all over it (which comes off with a bit of light abrasive polish). She's MOT'd for another 6 months and everything seems to work. Yay!
Thanks all, If it wasn't so cold I'd be out in the garage mucking about with it, as it is, I'm sitting in the warm, ordering the bits I know I need. On the list of things I don't need, I've just won a side fairing panel on ebay for 99p
Very kind of you, cheers I kind of like the idea of building up an inventory, but this one only needs refreshing and "superlighting" Probably
OK....Sounds like you are on the same road as I was when I got mine, but yours looks a bit better than mine did.....
You should have seen the state of mine when I got them, four years to get the 750 on the road and I'm still trying to Sort it out! !
