  2. Quote.

"Just to get back on topic (sorry) didn't the 2001 come with 5 spoke wheels? May be a 2000 or earlier registered in 2001."

The 748S came with 5 spoke wheels, the basic E did not, it also had no adjustable headstock, no dzus fasteners for the panels and no quick release unions for the fuel pump. It was a so called budget bike and had stepped heads which no other 748 had.

It was an entry level machine designed to get people into the superbike category! no doubt with one idea being that once converted people would trade up to the 996/998 models.

  3. So probably it's not sold as you can nearly by a 996 with more goodies on for 4k.

  4. That would be one reason and even when new the differential between a 748E and a stock 998 Bip was about £2,000 or so at the time, or if you went to a non official Ducati importer such as Taz motorcyles, they were selling 998 Bip's for £9,500 or £1,000 less than an official dealer was asking. They were UK full spec. machines and came with a two year warranty backed by them.

A 748E was around £8,500 new from a Ducati dealer at one point with the 748S being officially sold at around £9,500. You can imagine what a few people chose to do

  5. So, in summary, it is quite simply still for sale as it's too many spondoolies :)

  6. Yes I would say it is for an unremarkable bike, personally I would go for an SP/SPS/R for that money

  7. May pop over one day and have a look. You never know maybe a cheeky bid might buy it. Surely at some point they will go up in value for good examples?

  8. Hi Dom. I went into their shop a few months ago looking at a 996 they had in. It was up for about £4,000 but I could have taken it for £3,000. If you're really interested, let us know and I'll pop round tomorrow and see them about it. (It's less than 5 mins away from work)

  9. 10 years time 8-10,000 i have seen the future

  10. I don't think I'm at that stage yet mate but thanks for offer. I'd need to be £2k at moment. And I've not even run it past the jury yet lol
