  1. I like them both, I think they are incredible racers to do what they do as well as they do.....

  2. That got your attention ha ha
Yep it's all bollocks and i never take anything serious posted on a forum

The only reason yamaha have had rossi back is they need a BIG sponsor.
David Emmett reckons it will be... Monster (owned by coca cola) or Marlboro or San carlo!
Whatever happens a team will loose their race budget.

  3. Rossi has pissed His Dad off leaving ducati , according to the italian press!

  4. In 07?The year Ducati fired Capirossi? The guy who could have been champion in 06 but could ride the 07 bike anywhere near CS?The one year Ducati had a front tyre that didn't fold and actually worked, in the way the other bikes have always had?

  5. He is not happy with how it is presented. Ie as if it were one interview, when it is in fact a series of quotes. He stands by every word. Unlike VR and JB who appear to be denying everything from the 80 seconds quip to the not trying hard enough. Both of which I recall you enjoying and endorsing. What a farce Rossi at Ducati has been, but a blind man could see that coming. Front end rider opts for dodgy front end bike team, 15 million euro salary soften the blow

  6. I would Like Ducati to get back to its racing roots . Use the frame they have used for the last 3 decades . All the shite the have tried to use since the year Casey won on the trellis frame has been backward steps.. Get back to what they know . Get the people back that know how to do it with the frame they know works. And remember it was from Caseys win on that the trellis was dropped and the results went with it.

Get a carbon frameless thats the way ahead.. Failure
Get an aluminium frameless thats the way ahead.. Failure
Get someone else to build us about twenty different twin spar frames ,like those second string bikes.. Failure.
Who comes up with the ideas ?

Get back to what you know ducati or end up like petronas.

  7. I didn't realise you are Stoners Manager Derek!
yep 15 million for massive sales increase (Torchio confirmed this) and begged VR to resign! as marlboro payed his salary not ducati
Good to see Cal giving ducati some shit :upyeah:

  8. Sales increase?

    1198 sales went down!

Sales are up due to a totally new product in the Diavel and a multi that is almost double the price of the old one.

    Nothing to do with Rossi

How did fully fit VR do today against old busted ankle?

  9. Did you read all that in the MCN!

I cant be bothered to quote what Torchio said and why He wanted Rossi to stay!

    You know best fella

  10. I think this is what you mean

“Over these years we have developed the most exciting and innovative product range in our long history, launching no less than 17 newmodels. These include the Multistrada 1200 in 2010, the Diavel in 2011 and the most recent, the 1199 Panigale. These successes contributed enormously to the increase in sales, which rose significantly from 35,300 bikes in 2006 to 42,200 at the end of 2011.

They were smart enough to spot the demise of the super bike market and developed accordingly. Either way, assuming the half the 7000 extra bikes since 06 are due to VR being on a Ducati, and assuming he costs an extra 7million euro per annul that means that Ducati have to make an extra 2000 euro per bike to break even on employing VR. The figures don't add up even on wildly generous numbers

  11. But Rossi hasn't cost Ducati a farthing in terms of wages - their sponsor covers that.

  12. No doubt. I can't also see what he has brought them in terms of great publicity either. The only story is that even the world's greatest racer can't get the flawed Ducati to work - which has dissed the entire David vs Goliath story that they did have going.

  13. Ouch, Glidd. True, but ... ouch.

  14. I had read that somewhere but thought it must be wrong since it was against what Rossi said in his book.

That would mean Rossi has gone back on his view that he did not approve of tobacco sponsorship. Yet now he takes their 30 pieces of silver.

Rossi leaving is a huge embarrassment to Ducati as it says that they failed, not VR, since he will most likely go back to winning races at Yamaha. It's a PR disaster from what was supposed to be the PR dream. They have now lost 2 world champions for the same reason.

  15. ...Which they did.

  16. Absolutely, and it's a real shame for VR and Ducati as both will have given everything to move forward.

    The only winner is Casey.

  17. Considering the size of Ducati compared to Honda and Yamaha i think the David V goliath analogy still works.

  18. Well, it's a bit like Switzerland vs the USA in a Davis Cup tie when the Swiss can field Roger Federer. So straining the David vs Goliath analogy really.

  19. I think the David v Goliath analogy has certain truths about it, in terms of bikes made/sold and size of race department but when it comes to the guy sitting on it and twisting the throttle then they're pretty much the same. I just struggle to understand why Ducati have failed to build a frame that works.
