Sounds like Dovi is on the Ducati next year.

  1. You have to feel for Dovi, factory HRC rider 2011, Satellite Yam 2012 and now the cursed Ducati team...

  2. I think he'll do ok. Or at least I hope he will. I think Ducati are on the verge of a breakthrough.

Or am I deluding myself?

  3. yup!

  4. Bugger :frown:

Ps Anth - did you see the pic of my understated screen name?

  5. Yeah....I thanked the picture post, thanks T. :upyeah:

  6. Ahh missed that - and thanks again :upyeah:

  7. I was thinking about this earlier, I'm just not excited about next years Ducati line up, no disrespect to hayden I rate him and he's honest, but he'll never win another race, likewise Dovi won't win on any bike, podium at best.

However given that stoner and spies will be gone regardless of any developments I would hope Ducati will by default have a better year given 2 better riders have gone.

Oh if only SuperSic was still with us...

  8. and a huge sum of cash in the bank, racing bikes for a living. Real hardships

  9. Exactly! If Dovizioso is so hard done by, I'll do his job. In any case he is consistent - which is what Ducati need to keep generating data to improve the bike. Judging by the article on motomatters about Preziosi meeting Furusawa, perhaps a change in chassis direction will be forthcoming. They'll be better with him as Mr. Smooth - which is what it takes to get the best out of the current Bridgestones - than someone like Cal Crutchlow who rides a bit rougher. No disrespect to Cal, but he's only really done enough to keep his seat for next season - one which after a shocking 2011 he's lucky to still be in.

I suspect Smith will go well on the Tech 3. They are running their own bikes in Moto2, with apparently not much budget. This is in comparison to the money-no-object Marc Marquez Suter effort, the popular Kalex and FTR's, and the Aprilia designed Speed Up Iannone is on. However, he's consistently well ahead of his team-mate, and is far more consistent than the over-hyped Redding, which is all you can ask.

  10. "All you can ask?" - I'd have hoped he'd win a race or two!

  11. I think most of us would have hoped that but the bike doesn't seem to have it in it. It would be worth someone with the time to do it comparing Smith's race and lap times from this season to last, as we've not heard much about updates to the bike at all IIRC.

  12. Cal says he's not racing for money but that interview was all about the money! He should stay, become consistent and maybe he'll get that ride/money he so desperately wants in 2014. I know nada though
