Wouldn't you also need approval from Ducati for use of their copyright images from the 1199 press release for a profit making venture? You wouldn't want to get sued if someone saw one and grassed you up.
^ I don't believe they would sue going by similar scenario with Ferrari/Lancia. First thing they usually do is merely ask you to remove or modify.
Bit late if you've already printed and sold X amount of t-shirts! Ducati are very protective of their logo and trademarks, especially when it comes to making profit, and have only got worse since Audi/VAG took over.
There are (even still) many many illegal Ferrari logos on T-shirts all over the world but Fiat - Chrysler don't have a team running round slapping 'intention to sue' notices on all of them, they couldn't afford it for one!
The difference being that the creators don't stick their name on it so it's harder to trace to a source...
No, as said, as an 'organisation' this Forum is pro-Ducati and it would be the last thing they would resort to as equivalent to shooting yourself in the foot.
Rob - Your original post showed a design of a T Shirt with Ducati Forum clearly visible, are you saying that any design we decide on cannot ( potentially ) have Ducati Forum printed on the T Shirt. If it can't ...... whats the point ?
I think you can get away with the words if the actual Logo / Type face isn't used, this is why I didn't use the actual Logo on my 916 T Shirt posted earlier. It is a grey area however and now owned by VAG they maybe more stringent in future. Perhaps Rob could retaliate and ban them from advertising :Hilarious:
Yes please! As long as it comes with a matching distressed leather man bag in brown? If you need a good design, Al (Arquebus), is your man, he did one for me. We used the design for the Kent DOC stickers, but had to clear the logo with DOC GB first.
