Started a project to replace the packing in these race cans for the quieter track days but I now have a 54mm race system fitted and to be brutally honest, I can't be arsed to finish the job. As you can see from the photos the pipes and carbon slips are in good condition with no scorching. You get pipes, carbon slips, end caps and the rivet strips(not shown), £250 packaged and posted. Andy
They are from a 50mm system. As I already have a nearly new pair and a brand new pair still in their original box, these were stripped because the original packing had started to crystallise and I was looking to repack them with Acoustafil to use on 99db track days. After I fitted the 748RS engine I succumbed to a full titanium 54mm system so they are surplus to requirement and I could use the pennies for Cartagena in 3 weeks - not that I'm calendar watching . Andy
Whatever you are prepared to pay:smile:. I had a figure in mind that I was not prepared to go over but when it came to it the deal included labour to remove the 50mm system and fit the new one which also came with straps and heat shield. I had seen just the cans on E Bay for £800 but guess factoring in labour, I paid slightly more for the full system. Andy
I have a 998 that I was considering putting back to standard spec so just wondered - it's got lots of yummie bits on it
If you have a 54mm system please, please, please can I have first go ? Come to that depending on what and how yummy the bits are, happy to have a conversation. Andy
I have the upgraded kit with bigger lift cams and race ecu, bucci corse bearing type slipper clutch, Ohlins damper and rear shock, Marvic magnesium wheels (needs verifying but I think they are), Giles rear sets, full carbon bodywork in standard Ducati yellow. But unfortunately I now think the system is only 50mm but need to check :Hilarious:
Yeh, I was thinking of moving it on and have the original body work bubble wrapped from new apart from the rear bi posta serat which is still fitted as the original owner needed to take his Mrs on the back - so the carbon single seat unit is new and un painted. Standard + trick bits separate will make the best sense - I just haven't been able to commit to do it as it looks yummy as it is. I recently thought to get the carbon seat unit sprayed, put it on and keep it still undecided...
The 998 was always a fantasy of mine, still is but my 748R(RS) project sort of sucked me in and is sucking me dry. Still will find out how successful the build is in 3 weeks. If it were me I'd keep it and love it to bits . Andy
This will have testa headers so no good for anything but a 998. Sill fetch good money though...I sold my 54mm system for £1200 last year
Seriously considering them. I'm thinking of changing to a 45/50 setup on my 748 now that I have just put a SP engine in it. What kind of work would be left to do to them as they are?
Sorry but I have agreed a sale pending payment and I have had a number of enquiries who have asked to be considered if the sale falls through which is very unlikely. Andy
