Problems At Work - Please Help!

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Ian, Mar 13, 2015.

  1. hi all,

    Firstly, a bit about myself.
I'm currently employed in a small shop (selling sandwiches, they're lovely) in a northern industrial town. I enjoy my work, and think I'm really good at it - some may say I think I'm better than I am, but they're obviously wrong. I work in a close knit team, but I'm obviously the star sandwich maker, and I reckon without me the shop wouldn't survive. Anyhow, to my problem.
At a recent works do I may have got a bit a lairy and been involved in a bit of a set-to with my boss. I've been in trouble a few times in the past, and I think they'd said something about a final warning or some such after the last incident.
My question is, how dare they treat me this way? How can I get my job back? I've tried a media campaign but been ignored. I've tried social media but got nowhere? Why are the general public not signing my on line petition?
Most of my 'friends' have told me it serves me right, that I've had it coming for a while and blatantly been getting too arrogant and cocky, but how do I get them to see sense?

  7. Stage a race between the bread factory and the tuna bucket in three high powered cars. Make some comments about the environment and then invite a star to open a reasonably tight jar. Salad cream will do.

  9. Firstly, calm down a bit..........

Secondly, depending how you were given your warnings, they may have every right to treat you in the way they have; based upon how you have admiited behaving.......

....on the other hand, if they haven't followed procedure on giving you the warnings, you may have every right to sue them for unfair dismissal regardless of whether you have been an arsehole or not.

.......Third, read this: Dismissing staff - GOV.UK

    Good luck.............

PS....Were you making sandwiches instead of steak for Jeremy Clarkson?

  15. So you've been sacked then? Is that right?
You got a bit lairy at a works party and had a run in with your boss as a result. You can't seem to remember when something of a final warning was issued? And it's not the first time? Am I missing something or have you been on a total booze induced mind fuck since?
But yeah how dare they treat you this way!

  16. One sandwich short of a picnic if you ask me :)

  17. Is this a racist incident, if so are you a wholemeal, 50:50, brown or White.
Under EU law you don't have to complete this information.
Now off to the internet to find some images of Brown and White baps, covered in flour rolling around the floor, with a large French stick trying to rip the wrappers off them.
