  1. hi guys,
Going from Plymouth to santander looking for any help on routes down towards Portugal and back to santander .
    Any help would be great.

  2. Hi,Done this ferry crossing the last few years in early Sept.Could do with more info re how long you have and do you want to get there quickly or see some stuff on the way.
The last two years we have headed straight to Burgos .There is a great road straight out of Santander ,might be the 692 ? Great way to get warmed up.Burgos nice place. From there I would head to Segovia ,fabulous place a defo must see, also easy to hit great roads after and onwards towards Caceres ,another top night out in great place. After that you are close to border to get in to Portugal or you could motorway down to Seville
Heading back you could come up to Salamanca the Leon and into the picos .LOads of options really but don't underestimate how far it is .
Never a problem with hotels petrol or people .I think SPain takes a lot of beating and normally you've got a good chance with the weather.
We're heading to Northern Portugal this year ,lots of good roads in the north.
Wherever you end up I hope you enjoy

  3. hi buddy

Would like to see some sights along the way and I have heard the picos is a great ride.

  4. Picos de Europa has some of the best roads about. If you haven't been there before, well worth doing!

  5. I'm off to the Picos in June, I'll let you know...

  6. Thanks guys just need to set up a route then that includes picos

  7. Condoms and a bottle opener!

  8. Oh I agree with Fig, the picks de Europa are fantastic and well worth a detour if your itenery allows. We went last year, one section was 70 miles of hair pin bends with snow at the top. It was May. You really get engrossed with the envoriment and views. Go for it!

  9. Marty think you could do pretty much most of what I have suggested in that time as long as you keep moving, the picos going or coming back would be good.
I use Michelin maps and have found if you plot your route around the green bendy roads you are normally gaurenteed top riding.
Let us know how it goes,
There is a touring section on here and a bmw site ukgser is an absolute wealth of info
    All the best mate

  10. Thank you guys for your advice its a great help.
