Nearly Total Solar Eclipse This Week...

  1. Cloudy in Pickering at the moment

  2. Best in the far north. 98%.

100% cloud cover in London means we will see nothing. Fortunately we have a few hundred thousand more interesting aspects of life to focus on ....

  3. Couple pics from me

  11. Won't be able to take pics if the eclipse it's still full sun here and I have to go to work :(

  12. It's brightened up here, a little. Looks like the Sun hasn't crashed into the Moon and exploded, destroying us all in the process.

When's the next solar eclipse due?

  13. dinna worry, you will be deed.

  14. 2026 according to the BBC

  15. I was just finishing off making my pinhole camera shoebox device with about 10 mins to go before the eclipse. No cloud here. But then I was required to serve some customers who wanted to know all about the Mac and wanted to buy one and needed advice. It's not a 10 minute conversation and I couldn't tell them to bugger off and come back after the eclipse (although, if it were my shop, I might have done).

So I missed the entire eclipse.
    Bugger.

  18. Indeed, 5 minutes spent in quiet contemplation of the wonders of nature in all it's glory is rarely 5 minutes wasted.
