Show Plates ;)

  1. Take a look at craigsplates which is where I got mine from and I'm pretty sure they will do any size you want as i had mine custom made to be as small as possible but still legal which if you have less characters in your plate is doable

  2. Think you are mistaken about the size of the legal number plate out there, if its smaller than 7x5 you wold see the hanger holes out side the number plate.

  3. Have just been down and measured the plates on all four bikes and sure enough they are all just under 7x5.

  4. I've had to attach mine with double sided tape as the holes would be right on the edge of the plates but non the less the plate is still legal:)

  5. Is that 7 mtrs by 5 mtrs ?
Here is a 7x5 plate against a standard 848 Evo hangerm as you can see it just about fits width ways but the hanger will show below the plate. anything smaller and you will be hard pushed to drill the holes without breaking through the edge of the plate.

  6. Yep you are right - my plate is 7 by 6.5 which is almost exactly the dimensions of the holes

  7. Yeah that's why I queried Bob T comment about standard plates in France on stock hangers, I cant see how you can get a plate smaller than 7x5 to fit a stock plate holder without it looking 'orrible.

  8. It depends on the market the bike is sold in. For example: if you google the Ducati carbon tail tidy with built in indicators for the Multistrada 1200, and select images, you will see some with an almost square numberplate hanger (UK, German markets etc), while others have a smaller, rectangular hanger (France etc) I think in this case the part numbers are A or B at the end depending on the intended market.

    [IMG]Same thing, different hangers! Jon.

  10. If you look at the hanger in my picture it is square, I reckon if I measured from hole center to hole center it will be 7" all round so therefore square, it's a UK bike.

  11. Exactly, and BobT, being in France, is also correct, as he will be measuring against his smaller hanger, designed for the smaller French plates. Everbody is right! How often does that happen on a forum?
    Jon.

  12. Not often :)
    But it's all good
