  5. +1 for my vote on saying this is the best one-make forum I have been on,

In my (Hinkley) Triumph days I was on a certain Triumph forum which was bloody atrocious (although good for technical information)

Basically members with Speed Triples, older larger Daytonas and later latest generation Tigers /Explorers etc. were top dog . Daytona 675 owners were just "tolerated" -whilst Street Triple owners were treated with ill concealed derision and slurs on their masculinity.

Bonneville owners were regularly told their mounts were crap and woe betide any owner with a cruiser model ever appearing.....

Pathetic, I don't know why I stood it so long...

Thank goodness for the intelligent, well run , Ducati Forum!

  6. I.m an uneducated bum living of the social with a few Ducati's :)
Ok I a aint on the social just minimum wage :)

  7. where would i rank with my lowly TT600....?

  8. I tell you what; being a helpful type that I am. Ride over to my place on your RSV4 and you can take my Panigale out and feel like you're still a Duc owner. Post a few photos up here and pretend it's yours if you want! :)

  9. You would be far better received on a certain Ducati Forum

  10. This is the best bike forum I've been on by a mile. And far friendlier than the US Duc forums. New members here are welcome from the start. I was a member of a Triumph forum for a while but it a bit dull. Nothing happened from one day to the next. I'm on two KTM forums as well. One's got stacks of information on it but you might as well talk to yourself and posting on the other one is like gate-crashing an undertakers convention dressed as a clown.
I used to be on Visordown but the site was like the Marie Celeste with no sign of mods or admin and overrun with spammers.
Ducatiforum is the best. Can I have a badge now please?

  18. Definately the best single make site, although it never seems to take long for the locals (vi's) to weigh in and start posting crap as usual

  19. Hi Mate,

I'd not read anymore threads on the s1000r site which you'd added to as I was following your 'test ride' one which I believe I'm the last poster (hopefully friendly enough for you)

However I've since found the one with the chap getting the rsv4 which you kind of added on the end where you'd left off from the original test ride thread hence why I wasn't following.

But to be honest all forums are similar to a degree with this one being no different at times, when you get a new 'possible owner' obviously things are generally fairly easy going, it's when opinions differ on choice of bike or personal feedback where 'some' people take it personal especially if your still new and unknown to most members

For instance I know you from this forum so it's fairly natural for me to see your name and so it honestly doesn't bother me one bit what you purchased, it's your money and your taste, who am I to judge that.

You don't like the s1000r and neither does your son, however I had an entirely different experience with my mates who are both Ducati owners and they pretty much talked me in to the S1000r for the reasons I gave you over on that forum. Me personally I wouldn't buy the kwak but when you break it down, who gives a monkeys, they're bits of metal and plastic that get ridden and changed on a frequent basis and so I say buy them all, the more bikers the better :)

I honestly think forums require time and attention as they tend to be best when you have passionate followers, this one is that way and if given the chance you'd see the s1000r forum being the same.

It's not going to be much different on here for you apart from the occasional jibe, that's because you've been a long time poster.

I can tell you though that on any forum you'll get quick 'in and out posters' and for some members that gets on their nerves, rightly or wrongly I guess it's just the way of the world.

I say that you should stick around on here (as I do) simply because there's no reason not to, you've been on here for long term so why change now because of a different bike, the trick will be when you need to gather others kwak owners knowledge to show that same care and attention to their forum and keep in with the community.
