I have a ball python complete with viv and all other bits and pieces lighting etc. Im looking for a new home for Cedric the snake don't want any money for him just a loving home. Reason is simple he belonged to my ex when we got divorced she basically left him with me. He is very docile doesn't mind being picked up. Thing is he doesn't fit in with my life and im decorating soon and cant accommodate him. I can post up a few pics if needed if anyone wants him let me know please. Mark. Oh dear just noticed I should possibly posted this elsewhere sorry.
Good luck re-homing Cedric. I'd offer but I have no idea about looking after snakes (I mean, how do you fix them if they break a leg or something?) plus I couldn't accommodate him anyway. Hope you get someone to take over for you. Back on-topic - is he a bevel python or a belt-driven one?
Very good. Actually he is one of these new electric jobbies. Cant go to far from home though because you can never find a charging point.
Jesus Christ don't let my kids see this they've been pestering me for one for years. How big is Cedrick and how much room does the vivarium take up?
The hardest part about keeping Royal/Ball Pythons is getting them eating well. One started though not a problem. As someone has asked if you keep reptiles and they suffer ill health you will need to seek out specialist vets and very expensive to treat. Make nice easy pets to look after as stay small.Just check the thermostat, keep viv out of direct sunlight, keep clean and chuck in a couple of defrosted mice once a week or less for a adult.
One of my old landlords had a couple of big ass lizards about two or three foot long. When they were hungry they would smell your flesh and chase you across the room! Komodo Dragons I think?
My old African rock python juvenile used to give you a hiss followed by several very rapid bites with its several hundred needle sharp teeth.Took it back and exchanged for juvenile boa constrictor. That was a bit temperamental also as would strike out at anyone walking past if being handled but fine with the handler.Could be handy for personal protection lol. Never been bit by a Royal though as they just curl up into a tight ball and are very good temperament.
I will do some pics over the weekend. He eats fine by the way never had a problem. When winter comes you don't see much of him and the eating goes down to about a couple of mice a month but other than that fine. The viv is 2ftdeep 2ft high 4ft long 2 sliding doors. Never been bitten yet.
Have you considered selling the snake and viv set up for £100.I just think if people pay for stuff they look after it better unless you find a real enthusiast. If it owes them fuck all if they get bored easy to just throw it away or forget about its welfare same with dogs.
To be honest its not about the money. Don't be offended don't want it don't need it just want a good home for Cedric is all.
Yeah I thought that but just find sometimes giving animals away for free can end badly for them unless as said you find a real enthusiast.Good luck and im sure someone will give the little python a good home.
