Hi all I'm in the fortunate position that I am considering buying a new bike I'm undecided on an 899 or 1199. I have never bought a bike new before but the Panigale has really caught my eye. Are ducati dealers open to negotiation or is the price firmly held? If any of you know of any deals or have a friendly contact somewhere please let me know. I'm based near Oxford but willing to travel for a deal. Cheers
In my experince not really! Extras at reduced price more likley than reduced bike price. Ducati Aylesbury have a good rep for doing a good deal, just dont be swayed by the rsv4r deals they have!
Thanks Bradders, going to try and get a test ride of an 899 and 1199 on Tuesday. Not necessarily after brand new just want to get a good deal and they seem to have held their price well so guess that for an extra couple of k I can get a brand new bike with warranty rather than one out of warranty that could cost me a fortune if out of warranty.
Ducati Manchester did me an amazing deal on my 899 just before Xmas. PM me if you want the details.... I wouldn't want to be crass by posting on here. Martin (their Sales Manager) is a brilliant bloke to deal with.
I'm in the same position... 2014 leftovers and demos here in florida are going for $12,000-12,500. 2014 1199 base $16,000. 2014 1199S for $18,000...all with 1.9% apr. 2015 1299 base $19,500. U.S dealers have major incentives to move demos and leftovers here in states. Now, if I could make up my mind! $6,500 off an 1199S is insane, but at $18,000-18,500 I'd only have to spend an extra $1000-1500 for a base 1299 that's one year newer... I'm in a bad spot! Help!
To us English the prices always look low in the states. I saw a new 1199R for $29000 which is about £19000!. Of course we get bummed from every angle with import charges, VAT, brew tax and anything they can think of.
Ducati Aylesbury did me a cracking deal and really know there stuff, try Julian at moto rapido as well, don't bother with Andy at moto though he doesn't give a dam
Have you seen that new black 2014 1199s on ebay for just under £17k ?? Assuming its not a scam advert??
The clue were to look for it was in the sentence, "ebay" Ducati Panigale 1199S 2014 ABS BRAND NEW MOTORCYCLE | eBay Here is the website. (It goes without saying, be careful and check them out fully.) PETERBOROUGH MOTORCYCLES - Home Map of PE1 5QA postcode
I obviously searched ebay before asking for the link, but thank you either way. Maybe I couldn't find it because it's posted on ebay uk. The question now becomes...would you go for a 2014 1199S or a 2015 1299 base for an extra $1500!?! Better electronics, more power, better low end tq, and 1 yr newer (if concerned about resale), probably not as good of suspension.
In my opinion the 1299 is a clear winner. Crazy to think that I'd pass up $7,000 off of MSRP on a leftover 1199S, but from my standpoint it still makes more sense to go with the 1299. The right price for me on the 1199S would be $15,000 or $10,000 off MSRP, and I have a feeling dealers won't soon be offering that!
Though i haven't ridden one yet i believe that the 1299 has put back much of the missing torque of the 1199. Talking to a journalist yesterday who has ridden one on road and track he says the 1299 makes for a cracking roadbike as well as trackbike.
Well after only being a Ducati owner for a matter of weeks, I'm seriously considering the new 1299, and the current deals on PCP are just crazy for a brand new on the market bike Booked in for a test ride next thur on the S, I'll probably go for the standard ABS model as insurance for the S (above 20K) seems to be a bit silly Give John at Italia Moto in Lincoln a bell... top bloke and I think you'll be very surprised at the deals on offer Italia Moto
