Ducati

  1. Is Ducati missing smaller bikes in line with what KTM are building for younger riders? Is the scrambler meeting that market, most definately are with superbikes.

No doubt if they built a bike to suit the lads who just passed that arnt in their 40's, it would sell. Insurance on big bikes and the licence grades surely is creating the market.

If they are buying the ktm's they can afford a Ducati.

  2. When I was looking for another road bike the cost of insuring a 600 Kawasaki as opposed to a Ducati of similar capacity was far greater.

  3. might contradict the "premium brand" thing. but how cool would a ducati 125 be if it could be remapped to 20+ bhp. once you pass your test of coarse. ;).

  4. They need to make something that's easy on your shoulders for all us accident victims :)

  7. They used to be Cagivas.
Quite clever: Ducati didn't sully their brand with small wannerbe bikes, but they were all the same company and deliberately aped the Paso, 916 etc.

  10. My brother had one of them. Think it cost about £4k at the time.

  11. I think I was once lent one by a garage for some shortish trip or other. It was being run in, so I was told not to take it over 7000 rpm. Problem was, it only really started working at about 6500 rpm, leaving me with a very narrow powerband and a considerable sense of frustration. Gearbox got a work out, at any rate.

  12. deffo. looks better, more appropriate. i say that with head ducked. said it before, sumit not right with the way the fairing bends round at the headlights.
    says the fugly owner.

  13. want one.

  14. good prices, chris has been at me to buy one.
hmm sell the 848 buy a mito, a scrambler and a long wheel base ducato.
or keep the 848 and use a credit card. decisions decisions.

  15. Look for the Suzuki RGV250 on eBay. There are some superb examples. A lot more poke than a Mito and probably less delicate and they look the biz.
A friend of mine had one in the early 90s. We rode about together for a few days, him on the RGV, me on an 851. The 851 needed some stick to keep up with the manic RGV.
