Ducati seem to be upsetting a lot of riders, and teams, with their current practices. Initially it was going to be the MarkVDS team running things (a now pi**ed off team), then it was going to be Pramac and NOW a new rumour! MCN had a front page not that long ago announcing as though it was a done deal that Cal would be riding for Ducati. Buried in the back of the paper was the 'actual' story saying that signing of the deal must be imminent by now. We all know how that one ended. The racing paddock seems to be one of the worst places for rumour. The cynical side of me believes that rider managers often start these rumours for political reasons. I'm going to wait and see what's on the grid at the start of next season!
This is a very astute comment. Personally I'd be disappointed to see Spies on the Ducati Junior team - if he's failed to consistently challenge for wins when given two years on the factory Yamaha, what's he going to do on a Ducati? If it's a Junior team let's have some of the hottest young talent from the CRT's and Moto2. I don't think Spies' heart is in it any more.
In the interview he gave a couple of weeks back, he said that his mind had been made up to leave the GP circus months ago as it wasn't his thing. So how does that work riding for Ducati? It makes no sense at all. I like Mr. Pies, but I'm not sure I'd offer him a job unless he came up with a very good reason why he hated the Yam team but just loves Moto GP.
