My April 2013 S has developed a fault - the yellow generator light doesn't go out when the engine is running. It's under warranty but I can't get it looked at for a while and I need to make a couple of decent journeys on it before that. I don't want to get stranded with a dead battery, but when I have ridden it for a few miles its doesn't seem to lose charge - currently showing 12.4 volts. What's the consensus? Risk it, or wait to get it looked at before going on a long trip?
W...t....f... Please read the various battery threads. It should be up well above 13v. Get it in to the dealer NOW!
12.4 volts, doing what, engine off or engine on ? What are the voltages engine off / engine on ? Is it charging or is it an instrumentation fault ? I would want to know a lot more before even contemplating a long trip.
generator light? they have an alternator/charge light? cool. but hay if you brake down, who you ganna blame? 12.4v running or not?
