Evening all Me Showa's have a hint of green about them. Any ideas why and how to get back to white? TIA
Does not show up great in pic but greener in the flesh (plastic). It's the white rings above/below where Showa is written.
They are old, and have aged with UV deterioration. If I remember correctly they are not a lot of money to buy new from a dealer.
You can swap them when you want, fork oil or when you next go to the toilet, it's your choice !! Steve
Yeah, seemed high. I'm going past Winchester tomorrow anyway so will drop in to Luigi Moto as never been. Need a few other bits too.
Make some from aluminium, 2.00 - 2.5mm thick.......stainless nut on the inside......all polishy-shiny...... ....failing that, cut up a Fairy Liquid bottle.............. .........I mean, who needs a mudguard, anyway?
£28 from Ducati. Must be a way to get them white again. Might leave them in a bowl of bleach or OXI white overnight.
£28 is cheap they are normally around the £30 odd mark. They are a little more complicated than they look as they have a brass nut set into the plastic at the back to hold the mudguard on. Small pegs locate in the forks to keep the plastic mounts in place. You could try a cream UPVC cleaner which is meant for double glazing, it is slightly abrasive and may clean up the mounts although UV deterioration is probably not going to allow them to be perfect.
