I have no interest in football what so ever.... Until I saw how much money can be made by being on this board... They never discussed this during my MBA!
Just waiting for the interview with Blatter where he starts off saying how disappointed he is with other people corrupting his beloved FIFA, then introduces his replacement execs... all the arresting officers [emoji53]. Case closed, no further investigations. It's like Berlusconi but he was just so wrong it was funny.
As some others, I hate football, but we wont go there, my theory, Oh, Blatter up for election, lots of people want him out, so he does a deal with the yanks, gets all the opposition arrested and hey presto, he wins again lol
A bunch of thick young men who spit-roast prostitutes in hotel rooms and many of whom would be in jail under normal circumstances, kick a pig's bladders round a field and a handful of fat men in suits turn the dreary spectacle into a multi billion pound TV and merchandising industry. And it turns out the process is riddled with corruption. Well I never..
Football is corrupt - who would ever have guessed ? Bunch of overpaid brain-dead lawn fairies, playing a boring game, controlled by a bunch of corrupt money-grabbers. Basically - it's shit !
I'm looking forward to watching them try and wriggle away from the FBI, they really would give you sleepless nights.
The Yanks should move the FIFA Conference to Guantanamo. And allow the delegates to leave after their innocence has been established. Which should be in about 2027.
Joseph is a much loved and very under appreciated person, who has done a lot for sport, his country and local community work. Sponsors his local library and every xmas dresses up as St Nicholas and dispenses much good will and charm, ho ho ho. Or maybe not, this character reference appears to be as straight laced, honest, upfront and fulsome with integrity , as Joseph Fifa business dealings appear to be, as reported. Perhaps he should stand for the vacant Labour leaders post - he is going to be unemployed soon...
The FiFA affair is the only really good news to be reported for ages. I don't think Blatter will survive this one, but at 80 something years old, he has gone on far too long. The arrested will sing like birds to avoid spending lengthy years in orange jumpsuits. I like watching football. Of course, it's pointless - just like spending millions to shave a hundredth of a second off a lap time. Just like all sport. FIFA is a cancer on the game and it's about time it was brought to book. I loathe Blatter, but I'm not so sure that he is corrupt, in the legal sense. That is because the whole ethos of FIFA is corrupt. People vote for him because he distributes millions to their countries. He no doubt has a ludicrous salary and goes around in a private jet. He can visit heads of state and is treated like one. Does he need to siphon off additional funds? Still, I reckon that we have only seen the beginning of this story and Blatter will not survive its dénouement. If ever he goes down, I will be extracting one of my rare bottle of champagne from the cave.
It's always the quiet ones you have to watch and looks are deceiving If it's too good to be true it usually is
