1200 Rear Sprocket Nut Size

  1. It might be worth trying to polish the original nuts up with a dremmel or similar with buffing wheel and solvol. It works a treat on the calliper bolts..

  2. Think they may be a bit far gone to clean up nice. Are quite pitted. Think there's a local place that does zinc plating so going to nip in and ask how much.

  3. Don't be a tight arse...replace with proper!

  4. Thanks Aircon. Forgot about your link. Certainly an option just thought the giamoto ones looked a bit more like the originals

  5. Standard shouldered nuts are fine. Given the torque is around 40nm (cant remember exact value) you wont get any issue with standard flats and a good socket. You will need to remove the sprocket to get an allen into each of the cush drives, else they will just spin. Its a large 12mm allen on the back, so make sure you have one before you start. At the time I could only find Ti ones as the pitch is a bit unusual, so put them on with anti seize instead of locktite. I spotted them with a paint pen just to keep an eye on them and they have not moved thus far after about a year.

  6. It's worth mentioning that it is a disaster if one becomes loose and it shaves the swinging arm...or worse.
