  1. Very small world! Yes I understand they are looking to downsize a bit. Hopefully he's sorted and back in work.

Very much looking forward to getting down there now. Theres a fair bit of work to do in the house and I'll be needing a garage but Im sure I'll be getting out on the bike occasionally. We'll have to see if we can tempt @bradders down the M5 too ;)

  2. The property does have a small garage doesn't it? From what I remember it would need some work on it to bring it up to Ducati standard though ;-)

  3. Its got 2 at the moment. One is the original brick one and the other is a concrete pre-fab with an asbestos roof. The brick one is basically falling down with 1 wall moving away from the lintel. The plan is either to repair it or to knock them both down and replace with a double garage (this is my preference as you can imagine). I'll have to have a proper look at it when we get there. I think everything will have to be stored in the prefab initially as I think the movement on the brick one means the door can't be shut. Not ideal with 3 bikes and a garage worth of tools!

  4. Plenty to keep you busy when you're not riding then :)

  5. Used to live in Taunton for about 15 years moved away about 10 years ago now though. Good thing about Taunton is that it's not far to Exeter or indeed now a days Bridgewater which is a shame. For a county town it lacks.......... Most things.
That said I hope you enjoy your new house and location, on the positive side it's only 15 minutes up to Exmoor for some great roads.

  6. Er....yes. Plenty to be getting on with as with any house move!

Thanks for the good wishes @Drinky. Its a move closer to family and for quality of life....and with County Stores for what more could you want!?

  7. County Stores and Hatchers for shopping, Sheppys cider farm for getting hammered and lots and lots of charity shops.

  8. I have already spotted a fastish route south of m4 without using M5 ;)

  9. Bradders, what looks good on Google Earth can be misleading, Somerset CC have a fetish for double white lines, some great roads have been completely bollocked up by the 50 mph limits and double whites.

  14. I live 100 yards from Rose (actually Ros) of Rosie's Cider. Cut some trees down for her a while ago and was offered some freebies. Unfortunately I don't drink. Used to drink Taunton Trad in a past life. Lesson learned..

Don't forget the coastline on Taunton's doorstep. From Weston-Super-Mud all the way down to the Land's End all in blatting distance with countless lanes and back roads. AliT won't have time to hang the Anaglypta. Spray everything magnolia and get the bike out.
