  1. Ordered a hugger and exhaust heat shield off eBay . RSR Moto. The hugger keeps blistering near the subframe .. Above it is part of the exhaust .. 2nd one now .. Same thing

What makes are people using here and any problems yet ???

Gloss preferably .. Also is power bronze carbon fibre any good ??

  2. From personal experience, Fullsix is very good quality. Andy

  3. The one I got from Conquest seems to be holding fine up on mine (yes it is gloss), never heard of the hugger blistering before only the heat shields.

  4. Yeah hugger blistering and the exhaust shield has gone brown .. did you get a shield aswell ...

  5. Havne't bought a shield yet due to known issues of blistering so holding off until someone has come up with a solution. Looked at the exhaust wrap and the ceramic coating but not made a decision as yet but not too keen on the look of the wrap.

  6. Im still scratching my head .. will let the shield on their burn up... will then prob fall off without me having to undo the subframe blah blah again...

Anyone had an exhaust shield for a while now that can take the pace... small glossy one..

  7. Powerbronze have a discount on the forum and say their stuff should hold up fine... let me give it a go... y not...

  8. Let us know how you get on with it. Carbon King have got theirs on sale on ebay just now for £90

Edit oops that is for the hugger

  9. Yep will do .. Ordered the powerbronze one .. Will fit it next Wednesday as my bike is in for a upmap tune with JHP .

  10. Steve at Conquest had a carbon heat shield fitted to his Panigale, I'm sure if you ask he would tell you what condition it is/was and how many miles it has done.

  11. The Conquest one bubbled too.

  12. lets see how we got on with the powerbronze one.. will report back... will give it a few weeks and couple hundred miles.

  13. Weigh the sheild in for scrap , use exhaust wrap if needed

  14. Firstly, the carbon (Matt) shield and hugger on mine that I got the supplying (Ducati) agent to fit when I ordered the bike, has survived with only the need to replace the side bolt on the exhaust shield (got loose and fell off) . The usual cause of excessive exhaust temperatures is a too lean mixture, or put another way, not quite enough petrol mixed with the air. With the engine management computer looking after this, the only likely event it will run lean and hot is if it is run gently for periods of time. No 'accel' fuelling, which riches up the mixture, plus lower operating speeds can raise the 1199's operating temperature enormously. I would hazard a guess you are not a nutter rider and are keeping to the speed limit etc, no insult intended. A possible solution is to fit some Termis' and get the 'Up Map' installed. Loads of performance benefits plus it runs a tad richer to keep from cooking your trim-work. Mind you, you'll still cook your inner thighs !

  15. I have DP heat shield it came with my termi full system, done 3,000 miles since fitted and looks fine still, mine is matte carbon though.
My side bolt keeps falling out though, this is the 2nd one I have lost :(
I have full system, had the std upmap that comes with termis, but took it to Moto Rapido few weeks back and had full dyno custom map on it and I am well chuffed with the results.
I get heat up the inside of my left thigh but easily bearable and thats whilst riding in ambient temp of 23 degrees, the amount of people I have heard moan about the heat off the exhaust and how it is so hot it burns their legs, I dunno what they are chatting about.

  16. Is there a way of finding out what map your running without going to a dealer?

  17. Standard cans and exhaust standard map
Termi end cans has a bespoke map but still has to meet ECU rules

Full system has slightly better map but still meets ECU rules.

There was a thread on here and some one listed what the dash days when you first turn ignition on depending on what up map is loaded.
    @chrisw is the man

  18. At ignition on you should see this if DP map installed
