Weather This Week......scorchio.

  1. 90+ daytime, 70 at night apparently. I can almost hear the nation's air con dealers yelping with delight in anticipation.

  6. So I am off from London to the West Country for a few days tomorrow. The burning question is: shall I take the ST or the MTS? Votes please ...

  7. MTS

  8. Why? Not much use on the M25

  9. I need something with more matresses!

  10. Fair point ... but I always find a bike + a hotel more enjoyable. A mate who is a marine mechanic says he'd never own a boat because when he wants to get rid of loads of money he finds it more efficent to stand in a cold shower ripping up £50 notes.

  11. Why does a British heatwave always feel hotter than the same temperature in a proper hot country? Anywhere else in the world the low 30's is just nice, when we get that here for three days survival tips appear in the newspapers.
The hottest I've sampled was 47 degrees in Australia. I don't fancy that today. I've got some work to do in a roof space under the slates.

  12. You should heed these "Top Tips" currently displayed on the Sky news ribbon:
"Stay indoors between 11am and 3pm"
    "Drink lots of water"
    "Wear loose clothing"
Christ almighty, however did people survive for thousands of years without Sky's,"wisdom"?
Just goes to prove that there is plenty of money in the world,if the simpletons responsible for this nonsense can earn good money for coming up with this crap.....

  13. I think it must be because it's more humid here than, say, the Middle East. Thailand is the most unbearably hot place I have visited, because of the humidity factor.

Also if you're on holiday, you're probably not sweltering in a suit or - worse - leathers, like I was on the A31 this morning. The only answer was to open the throttle ... honest officer, I would have fainted if I hadn't created a bit of wind!

  14. ... but mad dogs and Englishmen can go out in the midday sun.

  15. ............I have just got back from walking the dog.................

    ............under the midday cloud.......
