What's This?

  1. OK, stupid question coming up...
    What's this bit of wire under the seat of my 916:
    It connects to a "clip" within the frame underneath where the seat is, but I can't see what the other end clips to?
    I thought maybe it clipped directly to the seat to stop it from lifting too high or something - looks like some sort of retaining wire / strap, but I don't know! Any clues?
    In fact forget the clues, if you know what it is can you tell me and save me hours of fiddling and trying to attach it to something that's obviously not meant to be :)

  8. Ha ha.. actually yeah could be a helmet secure strap!
    thread it through the helmet, back to the clip and then lock the seat back down! Hmmmmm...
    I prefer the rabbit snare tho :)

  9. I noticed this on my 996 the other month and just guessed that its a helmet secure strap. Im never likely to use it so removed it!
