Help In Gloucestershire?

  1. Well I managed to get my restoration project bike started! Wooo hood!!!
Only thing is I'm not sure if it quite sounds right! Apart from being bloody loud, sounds like a bit of a knocking sound!!! But then I'm not familiar with how a 916 should sound.
Do you have any recomendations in the Stroud / Gloucestershire area that I can get a Duke expert over to have a listen to the bike before I change oil and belts and more stuff!!
(I don't really want to ride it "as is" but just wanted to get it checked out a bit)
    What do you think??

  9. Thanks mate, I'll give Tim a shout and may take you up on that offer! I'll let you know, cheers

  10. Not sure if the noise will be clear enough on vid, but I'll give it a go...

  11. I seem to remember on another post it was suggested to take the clutch plates out and start the bike. Without any plates in it should not knock/rattle.

  12. That's a great idea, I'll check that out because the knock / rattle does seem to be coming from around that area... NB I presume it's all OK to start it without any clutch plates in? Thanks Cream

  13. Just pull the clutch in... That should remove any clutch rattle...
