Wanted - 899 Panigale

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by d8mok, Jul 14, 2015.

  1. Since my 1199 has been written off im on the hunt for a 899. Sat here bored trying to find one online so ive seen all the ones on AT, MCN, Ebay .

Anyone with one to sell give me shout but not interested at daft prices like some of the ones that's been for sale for ages.

I'll take a red or white (red is preference) , ideally as new as possible and low mileage. Termi's are preferable and ill pay more for one with termis fitted.

I can get a 15 plate in red with no termi for sub £11k thats done 100 miles so bear this in mind.Or ive been offered a 64 plater with termi at £11k but has done 3k miles which is too many. Both from dealers.

Ideally a 14/64 with sub 1k miles for 10k is where im wanting to be. Has to be mint.

I can wait for the right bike if needed as im sure they'll be a few for sale over winter but id prfer to get one now. Facelift 899 on its way so maybe its better to wait until November

  2. ill pm you mate.

  3. At the risk of being strung up by 899 owners but a genuine question, do you not worry the 899 might feel a bit underpowered after an 1199. Surely its going to lack mid range. Do you not think you'll miss the power? :)

  4. honestly ? yes i might miss it on occasions, but i like to feel like im nearing the capabilities of a bike and the 1199 was too fast to do that on the road. Im neither talented or brave enough.
I loved my 848 before so im hoping i gel with the 899. If i dont i sell it on next year and se what else takes my fancy. I did consider a 848 corse thingy but not sure if thats a ste backwards.

  5. Fair point. I have to admit the 1199 can be a bit much at times. There was no such thing as an 899 when I bought my 1199 a couple of years ago so I never had the dilemma. As for thinking an 848 is a step backwards, I've just bought a 1098S, I've still got the 1199S but I wouldn't say the 1199 is a better bike, it's smoother and more friendly at low speeds than the 1098 and has massive power post 7k but the 1098 is a very exciting bike to ride at any speed, loads of torque everywhere and as for the noise you can beat it!.

  6. I haven't considered a 1098s as I assumed it would be too much power again to feel like a hero. I like the use ability of the panigale as its very light to ride. My idea is to buy a 916 at some point too but not yet as I'm gonna be skint this year.

  7. Still looking if anyone has one they want quick cash for....

  8. It appears ive found one... deposit paid...
