Want to put an USB socket up front instead/ in addition to the Din socket, can't locate any spare hanging wires like they did on the 2014 model (that was easy) don't want to cut and splice into existing if I can avoid it, and MUST go through ignition system and NOT direct to the battery ....any suggestions?
There are two plugs under the pillion seat, may be easier to wire from there and cable tie where you want it
lift the front left black fairing insert. It's under there all shrink wrapped up. It actually comes out as there's a connector about 3inches along it's length, so you could take it to a bench to solder.There's a lot of unwrapping to do to get to the wires that look thin but I'm told they can take a lot of power. I have my Garmin harness on that which gives me a USB up front as an extra. My scottoiler is directly on the battery as this needs to be on all the time for the internal clock and to prevent losing the settings.
