1200 DVT Customising Riding Modes

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Trickyricky, Jul 20, 2015.

  1. With four riding modes.. sport, touring, enduro and urban I would have liked and easy option to select a rain option at least on touring and urban, but according to the manual the DTC settings considered suitable for rain are not default and the menu is not an easy thing to understand in the early days. Anyone have any thoughts or have a way of easliy/quickly remembering the sequence?. I have been considering customising the enduro mode for an urban rain setting, since i probably won't be selecting that mode often.

  2. Customising the riding modes is actually really easy. The manual makes it look harder than it actually is.

I have left Touring as it is and set Sport to ABS 2, DTC 2, DWC 0. I have left Touring alone, and will shortly set Urban to be my very wet weather setting - not sure exactly what my settings for that will be yet.

  3. Just to get it clear from what I can work out the default settings are..subject to check

    Sport...power. Hi DTC 4 ABS 2 DWC 2
    Touring...power Med DTC 5 ABS 3 DWC 3
    Urban...power Lo DTC 6 ABS 3 DWC 5
    Enduro...power Lo DTC 2 ABS 1 DWC -

  4. As above, just customise your own. 5 min job tops. And yiu learn how to use the system.

  5. Think you may find enduro is full power and everything off.

  6. The enduro settings are from the manual , and just confirmed on mine. Just amended the Touring power to medium and the enduro DWC to - guess thats not set.

  7. May be different on dvt then, as I think skyhook had setting I described

  8. Brave boy, do you find the front lifting alot ?

  9. Could be, the settings are for the Standard not S

  10. It's very amusing. Just need sensible throttle control and you're fine.

  11. I run my SH in touring all the time when riding. 3abs and 2 dtc from memory. Hardly ever see a dashboard flicker and I am not that light with the right hand. PR4s stick well ;)

  12. Easiest thing is to customise the enduro setting to make it a rain setting.

  13. Changed yesterday the DWC in Sport mode to 1 and was trying wheelie up using only throttle but no luck, I'll try again with DWC off but I think the fork settings have something to do with it.

  14. Wheelies in 1st and 2nd with DWC off are a piece of piss, giving it a handful in 1st can be a bit lively, make sure you cover the rear brake

  15. I hope so. It was on the skyhook

  16. If you're customising the endure setting for rain just remember to turn the ABS on... :upyeah:

  17. Yes indeed, in fact I copied the urban settings but increased the DTC to 7. I find this works well as you can switch modes easy when stopped at traffic lights or in a queue.

  18. With DTC on 0 and a 42 tooth rear sprocket mine will bring the front up in 3rd just on throttle alone. I'm too much of wuss to keep it in the air for more than 1 second though.

  19. I thought it's the DWC that controls the wheelies, I've set mine to 1 in Sport mode but no luck with wheelies. Are you saying that I should turn off the DTC as well to pop up the from wheel just on throttle?

  20. Yep. I believe 1 still has some restriction. I still have DTC set to 2. This is Sport mode. I have left all he others alone.
