  3. " here we see the male being heavily chastised by his partner. He has hoovered the entire ground floor, cooked tea for all five children and put them to bed after reading each a story but he still forgot to put
the correct amount of lemon juice in the hollandaise sauce. When it comes to explaining himself, he will have to choose his words extremely carefully now as 99.9% of them will be inappropriate . The male adult will spend the whole night on the sofa and any thoughts of re-creation during the next month are totally out of the question now"

  4. I like Lewis Hamilton
He wears his heart on his sleeve, which shows he's a human being...probably shows a bit too much emotion for a top sportsman, but so what?...he's been World Champion twice, and unless one of you is being particularly modest I doubt you've matched his achievement
Schumacher was a ruthless German cheat:he won his first title by punting Damon Hill off the track, got found out when he tried to do the same to Jacques Villeneuve, claimed that he had pushed Ayrton Senna so hard it caused Senna's fatal crash...if he had been brought to book over his cheating at the start of his career then he'd have been a lot less dominant.Luckily his alter-ego Rosberg has been warned from emulating Schumi's antics on track, that's why he's a miserable, nasty little schemer who doesn't really deserve second in the Championship.
I'd rather listen to Lewis Hamilton talking bollocks than either of the Hermans talking sense

  5. ^ careful where you park your quill, I feel sure the ink would burn right through to the foundations. Feel free to talk about somebody shortcomings why don't you, but to talk that way about somebody who is virtually in a vegetative state seems a bit sick to me. It's a free world as ever

  6. I didn't mention Schumacher's accident, friend, because it has nothing to do with his lack of sportsmanship.
He pissed me off back then for being an obvious cheat,he doesn't piss me off now because he no longer takes part in a sport that I follow.
And you will note that I said the same of his countryman Nico Rosberg: as much as I admire Germans/Germany,their sportsmen very often lack the civilised attitudes that British competitors display.
Taking part in a dangerous sport, and then hurting yourself, does not mean you are suddenly a Saint, and all you did before should be forgiven and forgotten.

  7. The difference between braking power and tyre contact patch between cars and bikes at this level is huge, unless anything other than say a parade lap or going fast on a long straight, I'd say anyone lending him a bike would be wiser to put him on a Moto3 machine and see how he gets on with that.

Around the same power-ish as a Ducati 900 motor (much less torque obviously) should be p!enty for him to find out what's it's all about. Sticking him straight on a MotoGP bike would be a bit dodge...

  9. You are right of course. I wonder who they'll get to chair QuestionTime now?

  10. Wasn't the second bike Martin Brundle ever rode Randy Mamola's GP500 bike and didn't he acquit himself very well ?

  11. Reckon riding a MGP is easier than s Moto 3. Full electronics package, loads of torque, best chassis and tyres. Stop, point, squirt

  12. It would be nice to see him try though, and until anyone does let him have a bash on a MotoGP bike we'll never know.
John Surtees was World Champion in F1 and on bikes, so it's not as if it hasn't been done before.
Regardless of how long ago it was, the bikes and cars Surtees drove were at the limits of the technology available, exactly as they are now...it might even be argued that technologies such as traction control/adjustable power delivery, coupled with safety improvements, proper helmets/airbag suits/run-off areas actually make it easier to make the transition than it used to be.
Of course every generation claims that their era is better/the bikes/cars are more of an animal than those which went before.
In 1969 Malcolm Uphill lapped the Isle of Man @ just over 100MPH on a Triumph 650 Bonneville production racer with all of 60BHP,road tyres and drum brakes.
That puts John McGuiness outright lap record of 132MPH,(on 180BHP + and all the electronic trinkets known to man),into perspective somewhat.
Not that I've got the testes to attempt it on any bike, thank you very much...

  13. As far as I can see Hamilton actually has very little "personality". And what he does have comes by way of that odious smarmy git Ron Dennis. Nico Rosberg, by contrast, always seems upbeat and happy. And at least Nico hasn't made it quite clear, publicly, that he is willing to just drive other people off the track - including his own team-mate - unlike Shamilton has. It always amazes me that LH will drive into people quite openly, and then whine like a little girl if any one dares to compromise his line. He is a petulant spoilt brat...

  14. And, purely in the interests of balance...
Shumy won his first two world championships in a Benneton - a car that was far from being the best on the grid. Then went to Ferrari - who hadn't won a championship for over 20 years - and was instrumental in creating a team, and a car, that went on to win five championships. I doubt Shamilton will ever come close to matching that achievement...
Incidentally, Michael was very popular with his team. Most people at Merc think LH is a dick...

  15. The 1994 Formula One cheating controversy was a series of allegations made throughout the 1994 Formula One season. Several Formula One teams were involved, with the main allegations surrounding Benetton Formula. Initially, Benetton were alleged to have been using illegal software—namely traction control—to their advantage in races; however, this could not be sufficiently proven by the FIA.[1] A refuelling fire on Jos Verstappen's Benetton car at the German Grand Prix led to renewed allegations and an investigation by Intertechnique at Benetton's team factory. Following the investigation, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) revealed Benetton had been using an illegal fuel valve without a fuel filter that allowed fuel into the car 12.5% faster than a legal fuel valve.

  16. British Grand Prix, 1994:Schumacher finished second behind arch rival Damon Hill before being disqualified for ignoring the black flag. Twice Schumacher passed Hill on the parade lap which is against the F1 rules which in itself is a minor infringement…. ignoring the black flag isn’t!

Australian Grand Prix, 1994:The race that sticks in most Damon Hill fans throats. At the start of the championship deciding race Schumacher and Hill streaked away in to the lead barely separated by more than a few seconds the whole race. Hill began to close then Schumacher cracked under pressure. Schumacher ran wide and hit a wall, rejoined the track and then noticed Hill slipping through on the inside of the corner… Schumacher then chopped across Hill breaking the cars wishbone. Hill was out. Schumacher won his first world championship by a single point.

European Grand Prix, 1997:Again a title deciding race, and a gain Schumacher in the lead but this time from Jacques Villeneuve in the Williams. Villeneuve put a long range effort down the inside of Schumachers Ferarri and it paid off… Schumacher however realising that all would be lost again tried to chop across his rival. This time however his car bounced off the sidepod of the Williams leaving the Williams unharmed. Schumacher was out and Villeneuve was crowned champion.

Canadian Grand Prix, 1998:Although Schumacher had the balls to accuse Hill of trying to kill him in the same race it was Schumacher who had an attempt at Heinz-Harold Frentzen. Schumacher blasted out of the pits and in a move similar to what Barrichello faced in Hungary, simply pushed Frentzen who was passing for position off the track at high speed.

Austrian Grand Prix, 2002:The race that saw team orders finally banned from F1. Rubens Barrichello led from pole before being instructed to move over. Rubens waited until just before the start and finish line before slowing and letting Schumacher through to a unpopular victory. The crowed booed and outrage ensued. Ferrari were fined $1,000,000 for their trouble.

Monaco Grand Prix, 2006:Schumacher took pole for the race, albeit for a brief moment. The officials didn’t like him parking his car at the last corner which ruined a charging Alonso’s lap. He was sent to the back of the grid.

Hungarian Grand Prix, 2010:Schumacher was fending off Barrichello along the main straight after making a small mistake at the preceding corner. Barrichello made a move on the inside and Schumacher forced him to with in inches of the wall. Luckily the wall ended and nobody was leaving the pit lane.

Schumacher was of course, innocent on each occasion in the eyes of anybody not called… Michael Schumacher.

  17. This is the very last one,I promise ya....:D and it's all for fun,no offence intended :upyeah:
Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has launched a withering attack on Ferrari president and Formula One Teams’ Association (FOTA) chairman Luca di Montezemolo after the Italian criticised the way Ecclestone runs the sport.

He confirmed the open secret that the Maranello squad was given preferential financial arrangements as an inducement to split from the alliance of manufacturer teams that was threatening to break away from F1 several years ago – baldly stating that he "bought off" Ferrari in order to kill off the threat of a rival championship.

And in an apparent attempt to drive a wedge between the newly united teams, Ecclestone spelt out how much extra money Ferrari receives.

"The only thing [di Montezemolo] has not mentioned is the extra money Ferrari get above all the other teams and all the extra things Ferrari have had for years – the ‘general help’ they are considered to have had in Formula 1," Ecclestone told The Times newspaper.

"They know exactly what they get, they are not that stupid – although they are not that bright, either.

"They get about $80 million [£54 million] more.

When they win the constructors’ championship, which they did this year, they got $80 million more than if McLaren had won it.

They were the only team that broke ranks with the other manufacturers. Why did they break ranks? That’s where the $80 million comes in.

"We ‘bought’ Ferrari. We ‘bought’ Ferrari’s loyalty.

"Our deal with Ferrari was that we ‘bought’ them so they would not go to the others."

Ecclestone added that if the teams want to boost their income, they should look to Ferrari to distribute its extra $80 million rather than setting their sights on CVC’s cut.

  18. "Ecclestone is a crook"... F**k me ! Tell me something I don't know !
So - I'm guessing that your not a Ferrari fan...
Some people aren't - I can live with that.
Whatever - the fact remains that LH is a arrogant, spoilt, petulant dick. And has deliberately manufactured an image of someone who will just drive people off the road to get past - it worked for Senna. Maybe that's what some people have to do to get to be champion - doesn't alter the fact that he's a dick...

  19. History will record - I'm sure - what Shamilton has done to get where he is...
And I don't expect it to be kind to him...

  20. I'm a race fan...I neither like or dislike Ferrari,or any other team in particular.(I was a big Arrows fan back in the day,and BRM further back than that...)
As far as LH goes,it's obvious for whatever reason you've taken against him.I don't see any of the traits you describe,if they exist they are certainly no worse than any of the modern day drivers.
Btw,Vettel,Schumacher etc had the benefit of team orders,Hamilton doesn't,and beats his team mate easily the majority of the time.
Nico Rosberg admitted he tried to run LH off the track,I've never heard Hamilton say that he's done it..(I've done a brief Google search with no result so I'd appreciate a link to the articles where he does).Schumacher openly did it,Prost and Senna did it to each other on numerous occasions.I'd hoped it would have been stamped out by now but there you go.
(Marquez does it too,and whines like a teenager when it doesn't work for him).
Sorry bud,we will have to disagree about Hamilton. We won't go to war over it though,eh?:upyeah:
