  3. You are hanging around with @Exige too much...getting used to all that palm action.

  4. Use an angle grinder to put a flat on top of the ball bearing. Then get a cobolt drill bit on slowish speed and set to work.
Any luck the bearing will pop out before you damage the allen head hole and then just unscrew them.

  5. Mig/Tig weld a couple of nuts onto the bolts, so the ball bearings sit in the middle of the nut...then unscrew as usual.

A couple of M6/M8 nuts should do it.

  6. Thanks for all the options guys. Will have a little think. Will certainly need some tools.

  7. looks like some of them have already owned one :Woot:

  8. Have you not got a big hammer and a cold chisel? It'll be the simplest way to remove it if you don't want to keep it.

And before anyone asks, no it's not a chisel that's kept in the fridge! :D

  9. if it comes out of a fridge and my wife has had anything to do with it. trust me, you will need a chisel.:smile:

  10. Centre punch and hammer.
Hammer the centre punch at an angle into the csk bolt head to undo it.
A long bar thru the ground anchor, or a short chain and a car hydraulic jack to lift (pull) the anchor out the ground.

  12. I have a normal hammer and an old chisel. Weather it's chilled or not I'm unaware.

  14. Do you not do DIY? It's like when I go round my cousin or uncles house. They'd struggle to get me a hammer or screwdriver.

One of them did famously put up two hanging basket brackets. Spent hours lining the holes up, drilling and screwing them in before asking me why one basket hung lower than the other.

One brackets screwed on upside down Tel... [emoji23]

  15. Yeah, do some. Wouldn't class angle grinders and TIG/MIG welders as standard DIY equipment though.

  17. Sounds like you expected to be able to remove it using a screwdriver set you got in 2001 in a Xmas cracker, a leatherman copy from argos you got 7 years ago fro Auntie Doris for your birthday and a early learning centre plastic hammer.
