i've a 2011 Multi and am watching this Termignoni Full exhaust for Ducati Multistrada 1200 | eBay Vendor says "There is no ECU update with my one, tied up the servo cable and that meant no EMS warning lights, it does pop a little on the overrun" Is this correct? I thought that a different ECU map would be needed?
Ducati Performance ECU Kit Multistrada 1200 - SPECIAL OFFER Not cheap, but i am unsure what ecu this is.
I have a complete Termi exhaust system which I'm thinking of selling, I would accept £800 inc postage for it, which does come with the correct ECU with the race map in it. It's not much more than the ECU for sale on its own! It's in really good condition. Pm me if anyone is interested.
Oh bugger I don't know of any software that reads that ECU otherwise you could just down load a map and then upload to the bike.
I had my 1199s done at Moto rapido, I am looking for a bit of software that will work with my kkl cable so I can save my dyno map to ;aptop just in case my dealer ever swaps the map by accident.
yup it does need a different ECU : 1. it changes the mapping 2. it turns off the exhaust valve servo 3. it displays on the console on start up "ducati racing" (all can be done instead by CJS on an existing ecu - I believe the charge is between 3-500) - but you wont be able to then go back as you wont have a spare ecu
Dilemma! I want to be rid of the poor running at steady throttle, so was considering just a ReXxer remap @ £230 from Cornerspeed by post. Would a full Termi system a la @rotaxracer make my standard Multistrada beautifully smooth on its own, or would it need more £ to remap ot the jerky running? I'd love a termi system if it did the job, but need convincing to spend lotsa loot on one. HELP?
The termi looks great, is made of titanium and sounds amazing but costs a lot. have had mine for a while, and downpipes have been replaced (split in the joins) and so has the silencer (split + cracked + needed repacking after 18 months), so not the best quality (I am on a 2010 - 5 yrs 30K miles though), have now put a new silencer onto the downpipe which works fine. getting normal decat downpipes and a nice silencer with a remap is probably better and more cost efficient (you can still get a titanium silencer and full remap) but you save'd short term on the premium and long term on possibly dodgy termi build quality.
Was just looking remap on standard heavy cat original system. Sound not a particular issue for me. I'd look at the full termi system as a possible resale when I eventually sell my Multi, but by the sound of your experience, the build/longevity might not be there! Thinking I may just save £500 going for standard remap.
I have never had a problem with mine, build quality has been fine, the exhaust has been re-packed though but all exhausts need re-packing eventually!
In all honesty even if you bought a full system to actually get the best from your bike you would need to go spend more on a remap on the dyno. So what are you after loads more noise loads more power or just a smoother running bike. If it's just a bike running smoother you can achieve that through a remap on a dyno without fitting an exhaust system.
Yup, think you're right, just that the Termi possibility tweaked my interest. The Multistrada makes enough noise for me, and has WAY more performance than I have ability, but it seriously needs smoothing out at a steady throttle. Looks like I'll be sending my ECU off for a remap next week.
