Bloody hell......my heart goes out to him as much as all the people killed, injured and affected by this
Which would seem to indicate engine failure, followed by the pilot attempting to perform a controlled crash-landing.
Unfortunately no,the aerodynamics of a plane change so much when they aircraft goes too low and too slow,it cannot get the thrust to climb back up and stalling happens........at the end of the day it was an extremely tragic accident,I should imagine a lot of people out there, especially the families and friends of those involved, will tend to point the finger at the pilot...........and the bigwigs will always say that the blame has to lie with someone.
The first vid on this thread shows the pilot rolling 90deg left on the climb so the plane of the loop was performed at 90deg to the entry. This manoeuvre would have taken energy which would have resulted in the top of the loop being lower than it otherwise would have been. Then there simply wasn't space to complete the pull up back into level flight. There was little margin for error and I think pilot error will be the finding of any enquiry. Just MHO.
Yes. It was on the brink of a stall due to high angle of attack, the wings rocked slightly due to pre stall buffet (?) just before it mushed / pancaked into the deck. However these days there are no such things as "accidents" only "incidents". Again just MHO.
I also suspected that but ( irc ) he did hold the. Descent in a straight line for some time which would indicate ( to me at least ) that he did , well thot , that he had enough time / hight to complete the pull out ..
Of course pilot error will be the finding.........they have to blame someone.I feel so sorry for him,he has to live with what happened.Just a terrible, tragic, accident.
Probably to regain airspeed after the top of the loop. Pulling back without airspeed would have created more drag than lift.
I'll join in with all the aviation 'experts' on here and provide what I think was the cause......... If you watch this film, note what happens to the plane as it is reaching the bottom of the dive.........Shoreham air crash: Man films Hunter hitting A27 road - BBC News ...........that's not stalling, it is a correction attempt......... My guess is he blacked out in the dive, woke up and made every effort to get the plane under control. But whatever.............everything is speculation until we are told what really happened. 'Apparently' the Red Arrows stated that the area was not suitable for stunts and nowhere to put a plane down if it went wrong without killing someone.
It looked like he was trying to get in the field after the road because he knew there was a problem it looked like the rear just pulled him down before he got there
