Will a robot take your job? - BBC News Apparently there's a 1% chance of my job being done by a robot. I wish the bugger luck
load of bollocks.. says a carpenter/joiner has a 72% chance of being replaced by a robot.... perhaps a bench joiner in a mas production outfit but as a site chippy working on london shit holes? no chance.. they would be way to smart
65% chance. i wonder how it would deal with an ever sincer or it was alright when i brought it type?. i could see how it would be possible in my job considering they built by robots.
The corporations could replace a lot of peoples jobs if they so wished but only the menial ones. This reminds me of the animatrix short films about how artificial intelligence rebelled against its fictional human oppressors in a not so distant far flung future. America has been trying to orchestrate for some years by DARPA a robotic system that would become a terminator. As they theorize eventually humans are becoming less officiant at killing one another. And of course a robot could kill for 24hours a day. To which, the U.N is now been pushed towards making a 'stop the killer robots' style future orwellian time-line.
robots,, i dont worry bout them,, most of my jobs are being done by Poles and Russians / Lithuanians already !!
well apparently only 1% likely of a robot taking my job well its welcome to it just been told I am being issued redundancy as of 1st October due to lack of funding more like my boss wants a nice lump sum redundancy instead of retirement in a few months so running the place into the ground :Banghead:
Beware all the nay sayers! I work in the electricity industry and our workforce has shrunk and some of that is due to what we call automation on our network to open and close high voltage switches/circuit breakers to switch the network due to fault or load etc. This automation uses actuators /motors and replicates the movements an engineer would undertake to 'throw a switch'. Its already here people!! Thank fully we'll always need humans to carry out certain duties like fit a new battery in the robot, until they programme a second robot to do that aaaaggrrhhh!!!
