  1. I've made it at last. Just about to start collecting my State Retirement Pension, which works out at about £5K after tax. I expect I could manage without it but I'm not going to turn down 5K - I can definitely find a use for it. The last vestige of "middle age" expires now, and I become definitively old!

  12. I go down to the post office to collect my mum's pension every fortnight.

    Every year I stick a bunch of daffodils on her grave too.

  17. Not another ballick out for the morning paper while I, yes I, ME, has to work to pay for someones pension.

  18. usually mortgage payed or rent covered, no t.v license, transport covered. probably no teeth by that age so you will be on the cheep grub you know soup and porridge, winter fuel allowance. £5k a year?. dude, you will be loaded. :upyeah:.
