Hey all! a friend of mine is in the market for a car and has a budget of £3000.00. I know to some that is not a great deal of money but it is what it is and thats what shes got! Im not real clued up on these things but am quite good at hunting out a bargain if i know what im looking for! (if that makes sense!) Some advice on what good and whats crap would be greatly appreciated. She would be looking for a hatch.. pref 5 door but 3 may be an option engine size small as although this car is for her it may get handed to her son or at least insured for him so i suggested a 1ltr.. any thoughts? are modern 1ltrs peppy enough? capable of motor way speeds? (not that it would see one often at all but it needs to be safe) Obviously like every one she wants the latest model lowest mile example she can get for her wonga! performance is not really a target, reliability is, just something that can keep up with the flow without thrashing fvk outta it! As i said any pointers helpful so i can get on with the task of finding a tin can for her :Banghead: not a task i enjoy... took me 8 weeks to find a van to buy and i was in a hurry!
you will get a nice fiat bravo 1900jtd for that 57/08 plate dont buy from the city and the cheapest one aint the best one
Im not sure about a diesel.. is it a diesel? jtd? and 1900 is a bit big. im not adverse to going outa town to buy if it saves enough or is good enough to warrant it and cheapest aint best for sure. will be looking for nicely kept, decent service history and give it a good looking over. i have Scottish blood!
you might pay more out of the city but in wont of spent it's life 1st 2nd and 3rd. they might do a 1400 petrol. fiats and alfas make a great 2nd hand buy. but i strongly recommend the 1900 diesel.
was thinking something like a citroen c1? something like this (if the link works) 2010 CITROEN C1 SPLASH WHITE | eBay
sorry dude aint even gonna look., it will be a fiat or alfa if it's recommendation from my good self. what about a grandipunto. cheep as chips and quite cool.
no do have a look as even though that model may be shit it will give you an idea of the sorta thing she likes! shes not one for bling but it still has to be a reasonable looking motor!!! also remember it will be a london car so small for parking cheap on gas bla bla.. and maybe a lil girly!!
If you could stretch to a little over £4K this would make financial sense - did you get that time machine finished yet? DB5 and DB5 Convertible - Aston Martin
