Nitron Shocks.

  1. Bought one a few weeks ago (2nd hand) and was really impressed with it, so much so I bought another one yesterday for my new zed. The suspension on the zed across the models has been consistently shite (you would have thought they would have learned but no...) and the gen 4 (mine is no different) so ive gone the whole hog and bought their top of the range shock (for my bike) which is the R3 with hydraulic preload adjustment. The main reason was hopefully it should be a night and day change as the stocker is so bad. But what made me post this was as ive just placed my ordered and the turnaround for delivery is 2 weeks so ive gotta wait....so hopped on the net and started looking for reviews and found this...

Update on my Nitron suspension and a MASSIVE thank you to Nitron! - CSL Register

Now, forget that its a car but that, is some customer service! ive never known any company to go to that level of support before which makes me really happy that I made the choice to go with them.

So, anyone got a nitron? and if so what did they, or do they think of it? hows it weathered, what the aftermarket service been like? just hovering up information while I have to wait...

  2. I got REALLY bad feedback on them compared to an Ohlins TTX but I took it as a pinch of salt, it's a good £350 cheaper than an Ohlins and it's a British company unless I'm mistaken? I've bought my shocks used or on clearance deals but if I go down the new shock route for the panigale I'll get a Nitron. I won't get the hydraulic preload adjuster though because I don't carry passengers so would leave it set for my weight. On something like a Z it's worth the money for if u carry a pillion I would think

  3. Well the other reason I went for the hpa is that end of the shock is really hard to get to, its horizontally mounted and the other end literally disappears into the engine........and I thought well if im going to spend that much I may as well get all the bells and whistles...

Yep theyre british. But, more importantly the shock is built to your spec....ie weight, type of riding, colour of spring (not that that's important but its an option)...

I don't often take a pillion but if I was going to it would be on that bike...

  4. I have a custom built nitron on my DD 620 race bike. A lovely price of kit and great service from nitron in respringing and getting it right for my weight and use.

  5. Haven't used them myself but have a mate that now exclusively uses them on his race bikes and swears by them.

Glad they do a non-turquoise spring colour option! :Clown:

  6. Yeah - I might say that when I got the race pro for my rsv4 a few weeks back I didn't want to put it on, just stare at it as its a lovely bit of engineering....getting nerdy now...

I went for the turquoise spring option as I want it to stick out!! they've got a new colour scheme now also, the lad on the phone said if you go into the site and then find the MT-07 that's the new colour scheme, they've done away with the gold...I think it looks all the better for it!

  7. £745 for a R2 for my 899, the prices are creeping up. Fair enough I guess as the K tech is £1200!!!

  8. My r3 cost 860 with the hpa....I reckon they charge more for the premium bikes y'know....and that was through a race shop - when I price it direct from nitron it came in at 899.00

  9. Yeah - it really is!

  10. I know of one that failed, collapsing the rear down onto the tyre. Rider ok but bike not.

I know what I would use.

  11. Except that Ohlins recently had exactly that issue with a bolt issue causing the collapse of a load of TTX shocks. What would u use? Penske? They are beautiful but I hear expensive.

  12. Yep - I know about Penske but relatively unknown over here so, if I needed it servicing - would it have to go back stateside?? - I expect someone over here could service it in all fairness....

  13. I suppose the main reasons for the post was that everything ive seen, read, used and witnessed has been nothing short of brilliant - I thought they at least deserved it!

  14. I bought one a couple of years back for a 916 type bike. It was intended for mock-up use.

I am looking to sell it for £100 if someone want's one.

  15. Jeez!!!
