I need to charge my iPhone 6 on from the bike, ideally I would like to add an Auxiliary Din socket in the dash area so it could be used for something else. The bike has a powered sat nav connection, which Snells fitted before I picked the bike up. I can solder, heat shrink etc, but I am fairly nervous about cutting into cables, unless I can see they come from the battery, so any photos or idiot guides will be welcomed. TIA
Im sure we have some Android and Windoz stuff for pucks, why would you waste the most reliable phone we have.
You can run a USB charger from the same satnav power connector snells used. I run this Dual Double 2 USB DC-DC Car Converter Module 12V To 5V 3A 15W Power Adapter | eBay
Actually, now I have changed bikes, I have a lead that plugs in to the ducati block just under lhs panel by battery thats a ultimate addons power pack, may even have an iphone 6 charger lead...
I bought this on ebay: I most use the 12v socket with a USB adapter. Used for many thousands of miles with no issues.
All those eBay 12v to usb things are great. Don't go thinking it's under £5 so must be crap. Not the case. I now have 2 USB ports up front and 2 by the rear seat for the wife. Both running on the touratech ignition based distribution system.
sorry YMFB, don't mean to take the thread. I've been emailing nippy and they suggested a cable and connection, but I was told to use the connection at the battery. still scratching my head
I like diagrams, clear instruction. Not words, not photos from strange perspectives. Sorry bradders.all I needed was 1 product to connect a sat nav to a bike with USB connections, for charging other crap all neatly connected to the bike. Please don't say use the din. I know I'm thick but jez
