Just seen Jacques Cornu (the old 250cc rider) on Swiss TV news talking about it. He thinks it's all great for the sport. It has generated media attention and he thinks Valencia will garner a lot bigger audience as a result. It's a bit like the antics before a boxing match - all designed to ramp up the tension and increase interest. The committed fans were going to watch it anyway. But the recent fracas has increased the interest for the neutral.

that is a fact.. but unlike the boxing, a contender now has one and tied behind his back! it is all good for the sport, there is no such thing as bad press but to the individual unless its a fix there is nothing to be gained
having said that, the whopped up show down may be worth more in tee shirt sales than another world championship!!!!
That's because the entire UK tries (and succeeds) to ignore bike racing. There was almost no general media coverage of WSBK despite the multiple championships won by British riders and the domination of UK participants. Last time I went to the British GP, I looked for a mention of it in the sport pages of a national newspaper and couldn't find it anywhere, despite Kent having won his race and most likely the title. Fortunately in other countries bike racing is treated as a serious sport.
Ban football....tennis ...golf....f1 and any other usless sport,no supprise sponsors are hard to come by in this country,mcn used to cover all bikesport with results,now its knee slider tests and winter gloves.
Did anyone else see the Valencia media debriefs? Livio Suppo is not going to show the Data Honda has at the moment as he thinks it will just add fuel to the situation and as there is a championship to decide, they don’t want to say anything that might affect anybody, but they will show it in the future. Reading between the lines it looks as if it will confirm Marcs version of events .also Marcs and Danis media debriefs were interesting ,both will be racing as normal and fighting for positions regardless of who it is..that's good news! I thought both riders came across very well, Danni was asked about the unwritten rule of not interfering with championship contenders but he says he is riding for his team and wants to have the best result for them..quite right!

both honda riders came across very well in their media debriefs but all four riders refused to and were not drawn into commenting on the events of the last few weeks. frustrating, as it would be good to know what the low down was team side and what was said at the meetings but correct in that it appears that what was done and said at the time was just humans being humans and not an attempt at media grabbing drama. all parties involved seem to have come to their senses. MM pointed out a few times that he is only 22 and has a lot to learn.. good point. would like to see rossi win it but still like MM and look forward to what he has to bring in the years to come. dp once again showed class in his statements and whilst he may come across a bit dull, seems to have a fucken good attitude! looking forward to next season already, but this one is going to be hard to top!!!!! whether you think MM has been fucking with Rossi or Rossi was a twat in the last round i think we can all agree there has been some fantastic racing in all 3 classes and quite a few unexpected results.. Dont know bout the rest of ya but for me, the 200 odd quid for the motogp.com subscription was money well spent this season and im truly bummed its the last round... what now? 3 days till nothingness.... hate this time of year...
