Paris Attacks

  1. It never ends,does it?
    What a absolute bloody nightmare.
And exactly what do these people think they will achieve,I have no idea.

  2. Question: If people didn't believe in an afterlife, would they behave like this?

How different would the world be if nearly all of it believed that you only get one life?

  6. Oh to have them in front of you without their bombs - time the west stood up to them, yes they will hide like cowards and blend in as they are doing here, but while they have strong holds and hold land the majority of them need wiping out. Too many pussies in charge and time we changed our stance. Or Putin for once in his life playing the righteous crusader instead of terrorising (the gangster might have his uses yet).

  8. On a day like toda
I heard you the first time.
Have a quick reread of my post to see if you get my analysis / humour....its dry.

  9. Glad to see your humour is subtle again @AirCon . You must have recovered from being drugged up.

  10. So you think the EU is insufficiently vigorous at removing peoples' rights, and that is a reason for leaving the EU - so that rights can be removed more - do you?

This has to be the most bizarre post I have seen in a long time.

  11. This is the harsh reality of the situation we face. No matter how we respond to those willing to die for their cause, what we value is weakened by that response, and they move closer to their goals.

Enjoy our liberal democracy whilst it lasts because it is under severe threat.

    Really depressing is an understatement.

  12. Very, very tempting.

  13. Well........I reckon I and many others have seen this coming; even from before 7/7..........I'm pretty sure I have posted the odd comment her and there, like about idiots from the UK going to Sharm El Wotsit for a holiday.

However, the UK Government wants to snoop on all private communications to try to intecept terrorist acts; but IMO what with burner phones and deep encryption plus the Dark Web, I can't see many terrorists getting caught by our Secret Service.

Maybe because the UK Govenrment hasn't got a clue how to deal with the problems, they are snooping to get ideas from the public that have at least some idea.

On that basis, here's a few suggestions.........Tongue in cheek? Maybe.....

    1) Close the tunnel for good; or alternatively only allow goods vehicles through all after inspection by armed military.
    2) Build a few proper camps at Dover and other ports with armed guards, watchtowers and dog patrols.
    3) Form a coastal patrol unit with high speed boats, aircraft and helicopters so as to intercept the interlopers accessing un-patrolled beaches and coasts (even saw some coming in via Pin Mill in the late 90s)
    4) Persuade that idiot woman Merkel (an ex East German uniformed Commie official) to form a secret police (or is that re-instate the Gestapo?....which relied upon word of mouth, not electronic communication) and carry out regular razzias so they can drag these people away and intern them without question.....The UK could have something similar.
    5) Pull all UK military out of foreign operations unless they are special forces; so that the UK borders can be properly controlled by installing security units at airports etc.
    6) Increase the police force armed units and also have dedicated officers watching all the small airfields, defunct or otherwise around the UK.
    7) Even if the camps get full it wouldn't take many military personnel to maintain security.

It shouldn't be that difficult to do.....After all, Merkel knows how it was done.........

.......What?......You mean it has all been done before??? Who would have thought.....

Still........No worse than nuking Syria or the whole of the Middle East which is what it would turn into.....Remember, the Israelis have nukes too.

  14. There was a feller on the radio last week talking about anti-terrorism/homeland security etc, etc.
He said that all law enforcement is an illusion : that fundamentally,it's just trying to give the general population the idea that it is safe, and that the security services/police are doing something
Pretty obvious really,he said they can't keep tabs on every single person, and the vast amount of communications traffic means only the most obvious suspects are targeted.
If the world is awash with cheap weapons, and a few kids are brainwashed into thinking there are four and twenty virgins waiting for them if they die heroically in the cause, what the fook can anyone realistically do?
According to many internet articles, the IRA are the fathers of modern terrorism,(although it's been around for centuries in various incarnations, and actually quite hard to define,"one mans terrorist ..." etc).
If that is the case,McGuiness,Adams & Co should get the Queens Award for Exports,as they've made a damn good job of spreading misery

  15. Find this line of commentary almost as depressing as the recent, tragic events. Theresa May will be so pleased. Job done.

  16. What a terrible mess, feel so sorry for those caught up in this.

Sigh, maybe its only me but I could see this coming when Bush and Blair invaded Iraq.
The people and cultures that thrive in the Middle East are SO different to ours. With a different attitude to life and brutality. So when we are feeling sorry for the people of Iraq (previously, under Saddam) and the people of Syriah under Assad, stop for a moment and think. It takes brutal measures (and people) to control this region.
They are not ready for our version of democracy.
Pissing about in other countries internal affairs causes enough problems already. Time to sort things out (and people..) within our own borders first...then have a bloody good look at the East and join forces with our allies with an organised campaign against IS where we dont kill innocents with bombs and drone strikes (collateral damage? or cowardly killing?) . Remember, one more innocent family member killed creates another terrorist of tomorrow.

  17. I'm just saying what will undoubtedly help the security of the country and it's population in the immediate future, what else do you suggest we do as a nation to combat secret cells of terrorist threats?

Speak nicely with the Muslim community? Hope they help?

Sincerely I'm not being sarcastic, I'm just looking for ideas that would actually work, not idealistic long term goals.

  18. All true but Islamic terrorism did not begin with the invasion of Iraq. The invasion or Iraq (however wrong-headed) began with Islamic terrorism.
It was the wrong response, (or at least the wrong target) but it was a response, not the cause.

  19. I guess I must have written that incorrectly but as a fairly simple man I'll try and put it another way.

Ultimately I don't care what laws have to be tweaked to suit the needs of national security, I also don't really care much about having an open boarder to all other EU countries. I guess being part of the EU restricts us somewhat for some of that to be done.

I'm fairly sure (although could be wrong) that much of what is required may very well go against the human rights act, all of which gets regularly abused by infadel hating crazies whenever they get leant on by the law.

I may not be pc and I may not fully understand law and legislation, but I just think enough is enough, so whatever it takes to start strong arming these savages I'm all for it
