Well, I won't really be going off road as it is too nice a bike to drop but I do take pillions and do like the idea of riding with friends up to Cumbria in comfort, selecting Sport and enjoying the great roads up there, then riding home again in Touring without the bike crippling me. Sometimes on the STR I had to hobble around for 5-10 minutes before I could push it into the garage.
Stonesie welcome to the Mutli Ducatisti, where no doubt you will have a lot of laughs and screw your face up sometimes due to the nonsense that goes on here, 'on the odd occasion' !!! I'm surprised you haven't yet received a hearty welcome from a well known bird here who adores red stuff, but I am sure that will occur at some point. Keep grinning and keep riding the bike 'upright'
:confuse: So you did, I should have looked there first, keyboard engaged, brain left in neutral....DOH :Muted:
Just been talking to someone about it, he's got a very strong idea that all Triumphs should have Arrows (mine has a Remus, which annoys him) and a Ducati is not a Ducati without a Termignoni... So I might get the Arrow system, just for devilment
I'm not sure if this is relevant but I took my 996 in to Geoff @ Baines racing for a service Saturday and he asked how my back brake was as the 996 is also known for being pony. He says it is the heat from the engine on the master cylinder so he uses a special high temperature Ferrari fluid.
Well from the reports I've heard of Geoff, the bikes he is working on at his shop and listening to him when he speaks, i'm not. There is a reason I rode an hour in the pissing cold/rain on Saturday to take my 996 to him riding past a good dozen other bike shops on the way.
Yeah, I'm sure he knows his stuff. Forgive me, I'm naturally sceptical and I've never heard of this guy....so...Let me know if you go with this special fluid and whether it works.
A friend had issues with his Aprilia Falco doing the same, he used to run racing brake fluid and and change it every year. Anyway, I'm just sat waiting as the bike didn't find it's way into the workshop over the weekend so they've told me to collect it around 3. I don't fancy going for a good blast on the STR either because of the 'just one last blast' thing... I've seen a few bikes binned on track in the last session because of it. Sat here all excited with this winking at me... Unless anyone knows where I could pick that up cheaper?
Heh heh!! Will probably sound lovely with that on! Will you need an exhaust-valve bypass thingy though? Stops an error showing up on the dash if the Arrow system doesn't use one.
