  4. So what happens when someone like Richard Reid or Andres Brevick (until last week, European worst terrorist, still the worst individual) pass through? Wave them through while interrogating mr Hussain about his corner shop?

  5. Home-grown terrorists are indeed a major problem (think Lee Rigby RIP), and some of those have been found to be converts to Islam, rather than those born into the religion, so looking simply at names is not going to help much. However, the challenges in dealing with that problem (which of course the French have too), are not in any way a reason for us in the UK to:

    - Disregard the fact that the EU has totally lost control of its peripheral borders in some places, thus contributing to a significant number of illegal migrants (or at least non-EU-citizens) building up in various places.

    - Take the view that once inside the EU, people should be free to go anywhere without presenting any documentation. Of course that policy does apply within the Shengen zone, but the EEC was perfectly able to operate before that came into effect, so it's not sacrosanct and, despite the desire of some, we do not have a United States of Europe.

As we are not part of Shengen, we should, in theory, be checking carefully on everyone who enters the country. The process used for deciding who to wave through (after scanning passport and establishing right of passage) and who to check more closely is not an easy one to define, but it certainly needs to take account of the possibility of fraudulent documentation or perhaps increasingly the possibility that in some European states, EU residency and passports may be being dished out rather freely.

  6. You're not going to be able to catch every terrorist that way, sure, but ethnic white Europeans are somewhat in the minority when it come to Islamic terrorists.

  7. No one is suggesting that it is easy or without risk, but that doesn't mean it can't be done or shouldn't be done.

What do you think we could do to lessen the risk posed by terrorists ?

  8. Stop making business with them directly and indirectly so they do not have resources to wage war. War is expensive.

Stop bombing blindly and piss off civilians that will later join them cause of resentment.

If you have to act send in troops to clear at the same time as engineers to build, doctors to cure and teachers to teach. All in one go so they can see results asap.

Open up a enquiry to try and find why people who live here get radicalised

Deport imams preaching hatred, more preaching that mooslim law is more important then UK law.

  11. Who the hell likes shepherds pie anyhow

  12. Keith Richards is famous for his liking for shepherd's pie.
    But how about pork pies?

  13. not me. but his wife's? deffo.

  14. The French are keen on hâché parmentier, which is just shepherd's pie made with beef instead of lamb.
How can you not like shepherd's pie? I mean, if you said you didn't like toad-in-the-hole I wouldn't agree with you but I could see where you might be coming from. But shepherd's pie? It's about as innocuous a dish as you could wish for. It's just mince, onions and mashed potato with some seasoning. What's not to like?

  16. Glidofglodd simple if ingredients that are served separately in proper hunters stew are mixed together and baked again it's leftovers not meal :)

Now stole below from Facebook but it's cool.

To defend UK from IS by bombing is the same as protecting yourself from wasps nest with a stick.

  17. Better by far to lie there still and let the wasps sting you to death in their own good time.

Stupid, blind foreign policy over the decades has contributed to the situation we have now.
I am struggling to come up with a better strategy than this: try to break the back of Daesh by whatever means possible, and then apply a little rationality, foresight and logic in our future dealings with the Middle East - something the West has never managed yet.
