1100 Hyper Evo Tank Range - Full To Empty

  1. You have a bigger tank but you don't HAVE to fill it up.
I think you are just trolling Antonye. You know what a good bike it is, and it can be even better By adding a larger tank or any number of modifications.
But each to his own - if you want to use such a great bike just for short journeys or stopping very often that is up to you.

  2. I thought the 990 SMT had a 19 litre tank compared to the Hypermotard 12.5 litres. That is quite a big difference.

  3. Don't know size of the tank but my mate on the smt is always the first to say he needs fuel. Riding together at same speeds and distances his always costs £2-3 more than mine to fill and we often fill up 2 or 3 times a day.
I don't find stopping really inconvenient as we're only ever out for a jolly. If I was commuting or regularly doing long trips it'd probably find it a chore.

  4. This is true, but then what's the point of fitting it in the first place, especially as it wrecks the throttle response by doing away with the airbox and replacing it with bellmouth filters! That's the main reason why I didn't change mine as I didn't want to sacrifice the characteristics of the engine in favour of a fuel tank that didn't get filled up more than the original anyway!

  5. I understand what you are saying, but I didn't think it wrecked the throttle responses- Have you tried it? Yes, the air box is removed but the new filters do a great job - at least they did on my bike with racing cams.
    Each to his/her own.

  6. Customers from what I have read have reported no change in throttle response and the pod filters actually seeming to fuel better due to the poor airbox intake design. I looked into this prior to deciding to stock them ;)
