Paris Attacks

  1. 250,000 reasons plus family and friends and all reasonable people, which on the whole believe most people are, regardless of race, religion, colour and creed. or maybe not after reading your last post there.
i can see why the uk government are tooling up.

  2. Re: Ch 4 prog. The fact that anyone can stand on the streets with a placard telling our prime minister to 'go to hell' ought to give you a clue as far as arresting people goes. If they tried to take 'the sisters' to court it would rely heavily on all evidence available and would mean unveiling their main witness which would then in turn put her life at risk plus I am not sure how the law stands when it comes to unauthorised filming – a grey area which I expect Peter will fill me in on.

  3. no better way to gain inelegance than let people rant on the street. i hope.

  4. Why cant these hate preachers just be "taken out".. People go missing all the time. No arresting then bailing and dragging them to court just for a slapped wrist and a hug off the lefty do gooders and then they just carry on.

For example: How the fuck can a guy who founded a band organisation still be stood on UK streets spouting of his hatred of the west!! That fucktard should have gone missing years ago!

Churchill must be spinning in his grave

  5. I think you could call Channel 4 'the cutting edge' when it comes to this kind of documentary. I try and make a point of not missing any really controversial ones as they often go right to the heart of what's causing a problem. Several previous programs will not be found on any iPlayer archives, I tried a few years ago. A similar Channel 4 program exposed the fact that one particularly poisonous version of the K*r*n was being widely used in chosen 'education' centres throughout North London at the very least. This also involved another very brave undercover reporter with a hidden camera. I feel certain that if she had been caught on an early mission with no back up then you would never have seen her again.

  6. I suppose the answer is that
    a. it would be against our laws
    b. they would be replaced by unknown persons and create the next generation with a grievance
    c. it would set a very bad precedent

However it has been stated by government that those who join terrorist organisations overseas could well be "taken out".

  7. I wonder what time of day the meetings were held at and whether the children in the film should have been at school ?

There is a legal requirement to send children to school and that schools are subject to inspection. It really is about time that minimum standards were enforced, preferably that ALL religion is taken out of schools and a curriculum adopted that counters these threats by teaching some core values.

The impression is that authorities turn a blind eye to many infringements because they either don't have the resources, it is seen as too difficult or not politically acceptable.

Islam may not be the problem but radical Islam is part of the problem and it is time it was tackled from all sides.

  8. Here's news for you. The James Bond films are not documentaries. Having a license to kill and shooting people out of hand is not legal, or real. Fictions and shoot-em-up fantasies are all very entertaining, but don't make much of a contribution to real-world discussions.

  9. Turkey has shot down a Russian Su-24 :Wideyed:

  10. It is not just islamic extremists in schools which are the problem. There are also fundamentalist christians, ultra-orthodox jews, and others. Any attempt to rein in the most extreme elements attracts protests from the supposedly less-extreme elements. It is hard for authorities (such as OFSTED) to pick quarrels with all the religions at the same time, and nearly as hard to pick on just one. So as you rightly say they turn a blind eye. Sad, isn't it?

  11. Okay, that's probably it then – blue touch paper now lit..

  12. Quietly disposing of unwanted influences is the lesser of 2 evils in my book. It is only geography that separates it from doing the same thing in a far off dusty shit hole, for which there is a recent precendent.
It is illegal until someone passes an emergency law to make it legal.

I am not necessarily advocating such a course of action just pointing out that things can change.

  13. be cool, relax. the Russians love heir kids to.
not unless they have a secret weapon in which case.

  15. Nato (Trident) might not deter ISIL but it will deter Russia.

We all have too much to lose.

Proxy wars were the normal state of affairs until 1989, maybe we will return to those days ?

  16. Yep...dead right...........

I have just had my call-up papers to join Cameron's Volkssturm..............

  18. And there was me thinking 007 was real! next you will be telling me there is no Santa claus!

Anyway joking aside I've gone past pussy footing around "The problem". So what would your answer be to these ejits preaching hate on ours streets and clearly supporting ISIS. Maybe some community service or a good talking to?

But if you think its right that we have these groups in the UK denouncing the west, praising Jihadists and terrorism. These are dangerous people and a real threat. Threats should be neutralised

Lets not pipe along about if its morally wrong or not, is it morally wrong when they behead people, throw people off buildings, burn people alive, massacre people.

I wouldn't be hard to make certain people disappear without trace. No fuss no drama.. Just missing. (My ideal answer)

*All of the above is my opinion and yes I do know it will never happen just before someone points out the human rights bill or the Geneva convention.

  19. Their families, friends and fellow jihadis might notice they were missing and not be too happy about it. There is nothing like a sense of injustice to fuel a cause.

  20. I don't think we should necessarily assume that Turkey is a more natural ally than Russia. The Russians may be a rough race and Putin an odious little Stalin but strategically we may have more in common with Russia than Turkey. The Turks have been buying oil from Daesh and I'll eat my hat if they haven't cut various other deals with them, probably tolerating some incursions and skirmishes because turkey is implacably opposed to the Kurdish separatists (about the only vaguely civilised Islamic culture in the region). The Kurds are the only committed frontline troops fighting Daesh on the ground (and doing so quiet effectively). Turkey can't join them as equals in that fight without ceding some sovereignty or territory to their cause but it doesn't want the Kurdish front line to become a Turkish front line either. I suspect Turkey is playing a sly game, running with the fox and hunting with the hounds at the same time, whereas the game for Russia has just got simpler.
