How To Remove Bodywork On 1200mts 2014

  1. Hi, I am trying to find instructions on how to remove the panels on a 2014 mst. I want to access the plugs on the left side to hook up a garmin sat nav. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. You dont need to remove the bodywork to access the satnav feed, just the black side panel.

  3. That's true, although I remember it being a royal PITA to get the black panel in and out, because the crash bars get in the way. I've got feeling I loosened off some of the other panels to get more clearance.

  4. Thanks for your replies. All very helpful

  5. Where in the country are you? I'm sure there might be a fellow forum member that would be happy to help you.

  6. I am in Glasgow if there is anyone close who might want to give advice, that would be great

  7. Sadly I'm down in Plymouth so can't help! That said, it's all pretty straightforward, just start by taking the seat off, then removing the screws around the filler cap, and go from there.

  8. As I said above, if all you want to do is connect up to the bike's satnav feed, then its pointless removing all the bodywork.

There really is no need and you are making a small job into potentially a big one.

  9. It's fairly obvious once you start. I seem to recall that 12v feed is fairly easy to access, and you may just get away with a few screws on the side.

  10. My reason for starting the thread was to get an idea of where there were any potential problems of braking a lug when removing panels. I can see from the replies you have all posted that to access the plug for the sat nav is not a difficult job, as hopefully the small black panel is easy enough to remove. Thanks again for all the input.

  11. It's a while since I did it, but I easily removed all the tank bodywork and replaced it again within a 45 minute lunch break at work.
