I'm amazed it hasn't happened sooner. Admittedly America hasn't indulged in politically motivated mass immigration the way Britain has and Muslims in the US tend to be much better integrated than Muslims here. But even so it was only a matter of time. If you want to commit a Paris style atrocity there can be few countries where it is easier to do it than the US. The flip side is you won't live very long before somebody nails you but Muslims fanatics don't care about that and you only need a few seconds to wreak mayhem with an automatic weapon.
I knew guy who was very senior in the security services in Northern Ireland. Plain clothes, always armed and a catholic. He told me could easily of ended up in the PIRA. Through the time I knew him he had few brushes with lower ranking, uniformed members of the security services which made me wonder if he thought, at times, perhaps he chose the wrong side. Have you failed to notice the many millions of immigrants to USA from Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America generally? And how notoriously violent many of them are? Immigration is a hot topic politically in America, but over there it is Latinos, not Africans or Arabs, which are significant.
