Have you got after market rear sets on? i have on my 1199 and cant find the side stand? possibly because i'm too short
I got the ducati charger, I leave the end bit connected to the dda so its easy. Side stand I don't get, easy to use albeit mine came loose before.
lol, sidestand is err there somewhere. Don't worry though, evolution is wonderful thing. Dainese amonst others are developing a boot with an external toe!
I really don't understand the issue with the side-stand! Maybe it's the boots I use or the fact I have a fairly normal size 10 foot, but I can get the stand down without even thinking about it. Maybe it's just practice. Oh, and mine came loose as well, I actually lost a bolt out of mine. It was one of the scariest moments of my life when I put the stand down, lent the bike over and it just didn't stop falling. Luckily I caught it in time and was able to get it on the paddock stand. But yes, bloody weather!
Might just be worth checking the bolts are nice and tight every so often! On mine the bolt actually fell out so I had to order a new one, I was just pleased it happened on a homeward bound journey and I had a paddock stand to put it on! If I'd have been anywhere else there's a large chance I would have dropped the bike.
I wonder how that would of gone warranty wise if you had of dropped it because the stand giving away. Not really your fault is it..
Well mine was/is out of warranty so I couldn't have claimed, but yeah for a bike still in warranty you'd have a pretty good argument for having any damage sorted by Ducati.
ducati putting looks over function, pain in the arse to get stand down. makes u look like a twat when u pull up,
I modified a mirror and clamped it to my 1199S side stand. No one ever noticed it and it tucked up, behind foot peg, when up.
Hah! There I was moaning about the side stand in another thread! Apparently the technique is to use your toe from behind the footpeg.
Thanks Scotrmz , are they grippy compared to the standard pegs ? Also where did you get them from ? Thanks
They're on ebay, posted from Italy for just over £45 which seems good value for money?! RIZOMA PEGS PILOT/PASSENGER (COUPLE) BLACK PE614B | eBay Oh and I think a Christmas cracker fitted on would provide better grip than the standard pegs
I've looked at those but that's just the pegs , you also need the fitting kit. Best I've found is Moore speed racing £65 all in.
Oh ok, the pegs I fitted (not Rizoma's) utilised the standard mounts, so I didn't need a fitting kit.
